Canada Post Has to make a profit in 2020!: Q1 loss despite 10 per cent growth in parcels revenues – May 25, 2020
It’s kind of hard to imagine that in an era like this one, where everybody wants their items delivered that Canada Post which is a Crown Corporation would be able to find a way to make a loss?
Well actually, let’s be clear, Canada Post is in the red primarily because of their Pension obligations, which everyone knows, is a sight to behold!
I would hope for Canada Posts sake that during COVID-19 they make a profit in the second quarter because if Canada Posts manages to find a way to be unprofitable this year, they’re definitely heading towards bankruptcy!
I wrote back in Christmas tat when Canada Posts union made all of those silly demands for their workers that Canada Post would start to lose market share. What’s happened is the private sector courier companies now can have competitive prices with Canada Posts Parcel delivery and as I’ve stated over and over again, postal services are dead, and if Canada Post wants to save postal services, they should have done what USPS did years ago which was to add a tracking number, but for whatever reason Canada Posts postal services wants to live in the past and well, let’s just say Petro Canada used to be a Crown Corporation and eventually it had to be privatized.
Now the first thing to go when a government corporation is privatized is usually the pensions. Pensions are a form of welfare, it’s paying people to be unproductive in the here and now and that’s why most pensions are in the stock market. The type of Pension Canada Post has, well, let’s just keep things positive, Canada Post make sure you make a profit at the end of 2020!
