Some high-paid medical specialists vote to break away from OMA
I’ve been writing about regulations for years now, I’ve got hundreds of articles that I wrote, that are all about regulations, I also talk about the public sector vs. the private sector and how the Pierre Trudeau’s socialist Utopia in Canada is coming to an end. Personally, I’d like the truth to get out before it’s too late, but the truth is I’m starting to see that an economic collapse is inevitable now. Now, there are certain regulations that a government should engage in like environmental regulations, regulations at the border, medical regulations, however the mistake the Canadian government is engaged in are price regulations, minimum wages, wage controls on Doctors, wage controls on medical professionals and of course you have Bill Morneau, who’s been dead set on making the upper-middle-class Canadians pay more in taxes.
Well, one of the groups Bill Morneau has been going after has been Doctors, in his mind, they’re overpaid and he and Justin Trudeau have been targeting the upper middle class and trying to use them as the examples of tax cheats. This is typically what socialist do, they typically pick on the groups that are most important to the fabric of a society, and with socialist, communists and Leftists, in general, is that they assume that these upper-middle-class people are easily replaceable, when they’re not, I’m sorry, not everyone can spend 8 years becoming a doctor? Not everyone likes working in a heavily regulated environment, not everyone likes to take care of the sick, not everyone has an interest in the sciences or chemistry.
Now, the real reason some doctors get paid a lot of money is because their services are in demand, something else often ignored is that even though a person finishes school and is able to practice medicine doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll be a good doctor practicing in the real world, this is why without government price controls some doctors demand more money than others. But you see in Canada our medical professionals aren’t allowed to engage in setting their own prices, because we have a universal health care system, so instead of brain surgeons making hundreds of millions of dollars per year, we have hedge fund managers or guys in like Bill Morneau who make hundreds of millions of dollars per years, because you see those guys, those sharks can set their own prices, those Bill Morneau types can skim a little money off the top, but Villas in France and then become Finance Ministers and tell Doctors that they’re tax cheats.
It’s important to know that Upper-middle-class people are always under attack, especially by leftists, it’s important to remember that when some people go to a hospital in Canada, they do so with a sense of entitlement, a sense of entitlement to someone else’s labor. I remember being in a hospital and the young man was so rude to the medical staff, he was very degrading to the medical professionals and they just had to take it, because… well they’re regulated, and there’s a code of ethics, now in the private sector, things are a bit different, because you can simply deny a person service, when you’re running a private business. But once you’re in the public sector, you better do what your government God tells you to do or else.
So with that type of pressure, is it wrong for doctors to ask for more? If I’m working at McDonald’s I can simply walk out of my job, Doctors can’t do this, imagine being a surgeon and you’re not feeling well, but you’re feeling well enough to barely complete a surgery. Doctors are humans when they’re under certain pressures they want to get away.
Now, on the flipside, as many people know Doctors are given their power via the government. There are certain jobs that some doctors do that could be done, by Health Care aids, however through government regulations, this can never be, so this is where things get interesting. As the cost of living grows and as minimum wages or wages in general rise, Doctors aren’t allowed to really maximize their talents in Canada are they? Many of them are trapped in many ways at least when they’re in Ontario.
Now, most Doctors don’t do their jobs for the money but if you keep pushing them, they will start to ask themselves if this is really worth it. Here are the things that people forget is that when an individual has a rare talent or ability, it’s in your best interests to be considerate of their feelings. why I bring this up is because if you read the Toronto Star article that talks about OMA and what the dispute is all about, it revolves around the big pay gaps between the highest and lowest paid specialty groups.
Why I brought up Universal Health Care is because, Universal Health Care is price controls, it’s communist, it’s socialist, its collectivist, it doesn’t allow the market to price what a particular doctor is worth. As I’ve stated above a lot of the jobs only doctors can do, revolve around government enforced regulations, if it was a free market system a lot of the jobs only doctors can do now, could be done by nurses aids, Registered Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses and possibly other medical professionals. But because the government demands that only doctors can do certain jobs, they have a right to demand more wages, but the question is how much should they demand? Who should decide that? No-one knows and that’s what the Ontario Medical Association(OMA) is supposed get right.
But how do they get that right without offending someone, or some group, you see in the free market, the customers are brutal, everybody gravitates to the best, however, the reality is the best isn’t always the best, but typically the worst is the worst. But because everyone wants to only use the best services or get the best doctors that why humans create these collectivist ideas, the problem is when given the option, most people really aren’t socialist, most people are in fact, capitalists. It’s just well, Capitalism is such a dirty word for people who want to have some sort of control over you.
So instead of just being upfront humans ask politicians to solve problems for them and eventually the problems politicians solve start to create more and more problems. Unforeseen problems and well you get right back to the place you started. Recently Postal Workers, a federal public sector group went on Strike, the only leverage postal workers have is government legislation, most of their workers haven’t been through 8 years of college, most of their workers haven’t been through 8 years of college, yet they yielded their power over the Canadian economy. Imagine if Doctors went on strike or worse yet, image if Ontario Doctors simply quit, it’s not like they’re not in demand, they’re in demand all over the world. This is the problem you get when the government sticks its nose where it doesn’t belong. Hope everything works out great for the Doctors Ontario really needs them.
Interesting times ahead
