Change Display Name in Gmail

Funny how I found myself wasting nearly 20 minutes looking for something that realistically I should have found in a couple of seconds anyway that was the basis for me writing this post. Hopefully it will reach the right people so they don’t have to waste all the time I did anyway enough with my ranting

There’s two ways to do this the most common one is to change your Gmail chat name which is what I wanted change.

Changing your Gmail display Name

1) First login to your Gmail account

2) Once logged in, click on Settings (it’s at the top right)

3) Next underneath where it says “Settings” you will see a tab that says “Accounts and Import” click that tab.

4) Now to the right of where it says “Send mail as:” you will see “edit info” click that “edit Info” link.

5.) Underneath the name you choose type whatever name your heart desires in that white box.

6.) Click “save changes” and that part is done.

Now there’s also another area you may want to change this is “Google Accounts” you can find that doing a simple Google search or by simply following the link below

Just type or cut and paste the link below (link should open in new window)

When you get to your destination Look for “edit your personal info” It should be to your left. Click the links to setup your new name, and or address, password, security info. Whatever;

I hope this helps I tried to make it as straight forward as possible I know how frustrating it can be whenever you want to do something online you know should be so simple and for whatever reason it’s so hard.

At the time I wrote this most of the information I was seeing was not directly what I was looking for or if it was the person wasn’t explaining it the way I wanted them too. Anyway that’s it peace.
