A Great Canadian Story about Why Government Welfare For The Poor Isn’t Necessary in a Market System – August 21, 2019,
So the story below is perfectly aligned with the Canada I know and love. Where I have a problem with modern-day Canada is this concept that we should destroy manufacturing jobs for higher waged jobs. I’d like to remind everyone reading this that humanity has solved global poverty, we have the technology in the world not to feed every single person on earth, we have the technology to make every person on this planet OBESE! America as an example is filled with poor, obese people. The truth of the matter is the only reason any place in the world experiences poverty revolves around government policies.
I’m hearing this call to boycott this food, boycott that food because a few people want to control what we eat and how we eat, this is what fuels food shortages all over the world. A lot of people assume that Africa as an example is poor because of Europeans, you’re 100% wrong, Africa is poor because of their tyrannical governments and the socialist policies of those governments. Try to set up a business in Latin America or Africa and see what happens.
If you’ve ever worked for a Charity in Latin America or Africa, you already know there are STRICT limits on what you can say or do while you’re in these Latin American or African countries. These strict often socialist regulatory policies prevent development, a lack of development prevents manufacturing, which fuels poverty because those African and Latin American countries are now reliant on Imports to feed their population.
In Canada, as we lose our manufacturing, fewer companies are able to give to food banks, I know first hand working for a church charity that small business and mid-sized manufacturers were the ones most responsible for funding the food banks, well guess what, greed via minimum wages and greed via high taxation has put many great Canadian manufacturers out of business, and because the Canadian governments at every level aren’t efficient at handling EVERDAY issues of the poor Canadians are unknowingly expanding poverty amongst Canadians.
However, as pointed out by the article below, when Canadians know there are people in need, Canadians will spring into action to help. However, the fear of smaller government revolves primarily around getting to the heart of the causes of poverty, which often revolve around people feeling that doing certain jobs are beneath them. I challenge Canadians to actually get to know many of the people in poverty in Canada and what will often be at the center of the cause of an individuals poverty is a sense of entitlement. in some way shape or form.
This is often the reason why most people opt for socialism is that a Policitican will come along and promise people a life whereby other people are forced to provide social security for people who feel like doing certain jobs are beneath them. If there’s poverty if there’s welfare, why is there a minimum wage? Why would a government prevent certain jobs from exiting via the minimum wage if there are people who rely on a food bank to survive? This makes absolutely no sense to me. A minimum wage anywhere in the world is a sign that your society is so prosperous that the people have decided that jobs that don’t pay a particular wage amount shouldn’t have the right to exist.
In Canada, the Unions have become so powerful that they’re dictating policies and this is very destructive and causes poverty. According to labor unions if a business is unable to pay employees an amount deemed acceptable by the labour union, well that company shouldn’t exist! This rhetoric is okay, for people who are part of a particular labor union, but for this type of thinking to be the law of the land when poverty still exists is RIDICULOUS!
I don’t like that my country is becoming increasingly more dependent on imports, we’re losing ur private sector, we’re losing our food production for fiat paper money. It’s time we reeducate people about how our society operates! If people want welfare we need more people working and we need an abundance of small and medium-sized businesses in CANADA that provide food for the poor! As I’ve also stated time and time again, is that Canada has a higher standard of living there is absolutely no excuse for the Canadian dollar to be lower than the U.S dollar.
A higher-valued currency allows Canadian consumers more purchasing power, so if it’s economically not feasible for a business to profit in Canada, the Canadian consumer with a higher-valued currency should be able to import more goods into Canada to feed it’s poor and needy, America is more than ready to sell Canada’s poor more food.
