Groupon says No to Google’s Offer
Wow when i heard Groupon turned down 5.3 BILLION dollars from Google I said to myself these Groupon people have got some serious balls. To be honest personally I don’t know much about Groupon I haven’t really used it much. I do know of allot of people who do use Groupon but because of my lack in presence in the social media market its hard for me to truly experience the true benefit of Groupon. Looking at Groupon from the surface I feel as though its replaceable, but on that note I thought Facebook was replaceable and facebook even though i don’t believe in it in the long term still continues to amaze me with its continued success.
If you can make me Rich I will promote you
Thats the law as i understand it online is if your company can make me rich i will promote you. eBay, Yahoo, Google, Msn, Groupon, Facebook, myspace twitter and many other websites have helped regular everyday people get RICH. Once a website has this ability people will inevitably flock around it this is the Viral marketing effect. The fact that Groupon.com turned down a 5.3 billion offer by Google shows me they(groupon) have expansion on their minds. Well at least i hope they do…
How will Google Respond?
It should be interesting to see how Google responds to this like if they(google) will come up with their own version of Groupon. Google has been targeting small businesses lately adding to their every growing search engine so i think one way or another Google will unleash something in the small business arena. I am a fan of small businesses and tip small business owners anytime i have the chance, Small businesses raise the value of my house and houses around my area so their success is important to me and i recommend anyone reading this to do the same support your neighbors and your neighborhood.
Groupon is a very good source for small business owners and i personally see huge potential long term for Groupon if they can continue to come up with creative and innovative ideas. We are truly approaching what Daniel Pink calls the Conceptual Age i think the internet like i’ve said many times will be a major component in all of this. When Small businesses become the ‘big business’ society flourishes some predict doom and gloom i personally see opportunity beyond our wildest dreams ahead Best wishes to Groupon and Best Wishes to Google seeing these companies rise to the top is inspirational to me.

Question to anyone reading this: was that a smart move by Groupon turning down 5.3 BILLION? My personal opinion I would have taken the money!!!:)
