KFC in Quebec City had a Union 😂🤣 – closed its doors for good Sunday, December 29, 2019, 😂🤣
The first thing I’d like to say is although I think joining a union in an entry-level job is the dumbest thing a person could ever do, in my world, a person or people have the right to do it. You have the right to remain stupid is my motto. Quebec by far is Canada’s worst Province to do business and how fitting that Quebec City ha no more KFC. ‘Good riddance’ I can hear many people saying but let’s be honest, the only reason there is no KFC in Quebec City ore than likely revolves around their labour union.
In Ontario GM and other auto manufacturers didn’t leave because they wanted to leave, they left because of the labour unions. Trust me when I say that I also understand the mood of people who are pro-union, in their minds, they probably feel like this is a win for them, ‘screw those rich capitalists, who put profits ahead of people’ sure, whatever I get it, I just don’t think a large portion of Canadians are comprehending that if America falls into any type of recession, it’s going to be very hard to revive the Canadian economy.
Although people in particular sectors won’t feel the effects of a recession, people in entry-level positions are going to really feel the effects of a recession, because they would have regulated themselves out of a job. Quebec’s minimum wages currently sit at $12.50 CAD per hour, but you see with the other regulations in the Quebec economy, it’s more like $18 – $22 per hour an employer has to spend per employee to stay afloat.
A reminder that the Canadian dollar is artificially low, which f you know anything about economics explains why age growth has been stagnant in Canada. Governments have been trying to artificially give Canadians a pay raise, unfortunately these government-enforced regulations aren’t allowed to deflate, so in the event, the market deflates the economy, there will be hell to pay, that most people are going to have a hard time comprehending.
There’s always been this weird war, created mostly by labour unions to go after entry-level job creators. Because as many people know, part of the labor union schtick is to base everything on a wage amount the labour unions deem to be a livable, respectable wage. This wage amount often conflicts with the consumer-based free market that controls the private sector. You see in a FREE market, prices fluctuate, prices come up and prices come down, and employers need this flexibility in order to create jobs and to turn a profit.
All parties involved in the free market benefit by keeping busy, raising our standard of living and eventually becoming job creators themselves. But once an entity like the Government, steps in and fixes prices and says there will be no bottom, there will be a minimum wage or a price control of some kind, the people willing to be employers shrink and businesses will intentionally not grow in fears of being targeted by the government or by labour unions. Collectivism in all of it’s forms destroys things, but hey, some people have to learn things the hard way.
If you love Canada pray America never has a recession ever again, because if America has a recession! WOW!
