NameCheap.com Scam
NameCheap.com is it a scam? No. But I in this post I am going to talk the truth about name cheap and what I use them for. I use NameCheap only to buy domain names. I’ve tried their hosting personally I thought it was crap I also found their customer support in regards hosting not be worth my time or my money. On the domain side of things NameCheap.com is the best hands down. I will NOT under any circumstance buy a domain name from a company other than NameCheap.com.
Why I will only buy domain name using NameCheap.com
First reason I will only buy domain names using name cheap is the value, the second reason is the price. The value is whenever you buy a NameCheap domain name you get free privacy protection. The only time this won’t come in handy is if you have a ‘.ca’ domain name which is the Canadian domain name because all “.ca” domain names come with privacy protection.
For those of you knew to buying a domain once you buy a domain it’s almost considered a business so your information is available for people to see. Your homes address your phone number all of it is available on WhoIS so telemarketers and even predators can find where you live. For your first year NameCheap gives you this service absolutely free. I think this is the best value for people because most people only hold a domain name for one year anyway.
Another thing I like about NameCheap is how fast you can change your name servers to a webhost it takes me less than 10 minutes if you were to use a service like go daddy this process would take several days. I have my own hosting so for a person like me this is amazing value.
I Don’t like NameCheap.com Hosting
There is only a hand full of good hosting providers online and NameCheap.com is not one of them, this is no surprise because the other top domain provider Go Daddy has the exact same problem. I had a bad experience with Name Cheap hosting many people did I heard things have changed but hosting for me is a SERIOUS issue.
I take my web hosting very seriously. Because I spend money advertising my websites and if I spend say $1000 on an advertising campaign and then my hosting goes down oh there will be h*ll to pay. Another thing is NameCheap.com currently does not have a phone number to call.
NameCheap.com Telephone Number where is it???
A domain name is something that just sits there web hosting on the other hand is something needs to be monitored and maintained. NameCheap.com has no telephone number in the case of an emergence you are stuck I had a bad experience with name cheap hosting I cancelled within my first month. I do not recommend NameCheap.com for hosting. The hosting company I recommend is Host Gator
Name Cheap Review My final Thoughts
If you want to use NameCheap I recommend them for purchasing a domain name but i don’t recommend them for hosting. This is my opinion, my opinion comes from experience and also is based on the fact that they don’t have 24/7 phone support like Host Gator does.
