Because of NDP Socialist Policies Cannabis legalization costing B.C. communities millions π – October 17, 2019,
If a government decides to go Venezuelan style Socialism, typically the end result will be modern-day Venezuela. Latin America is chock-full of democratic Socialism economic disasters. Most people in Latin America would prefer to remain in their homelands, but socialism often results in extreme protectionism, which is enforced by a big bloated government. In Western countries, most people are well aware of the importance of the Private Sector.
Business owners, don’t go on strike, business owners don’t form unions, business owners don’t require the government find them a job, business owners don’t even need infrastructure, business owners behave differently from Governments in that business owners are driven by the pursuit of FREEDOM, whereas Socialists are driven by SECURITY. Socialists want social justice and social security, socialists put little emphasis on economics, and prefer to believe that economies fix themselves, socialism would have been dead long ago had the fiat money and central banking system not been created.
The NDP model of Democratic Socialism imposed by the current Premier of British Columbia John Horgan revolves primailry around Regressive taxation. Regressive taxation is designed to punish consumers, it’s also one of the major causes of Inflation in consumer prices(Higher prices at the store) As an example if you’re wondering why Gas Prices are so high in British Colombia consieder looking at all the taxes the peolple of B.C pay for Gasoline,
Here’s a list of all the taxes people pay on a litre of gas in B.C.:
- Provincial motor fuel tax (Metro Vancouver) β 1.75 cents
- Provincial motor fuel tax (everywhere else in B.C.) β 7.75 cents.
- B.C.’s carbon tax β 8.89 cents.
- The B.C. Transportation Finance Authority tax β 6.75 cents.
- TransLink tax (If you live in Metro Vancouver) β 17 cents, increasing to 18.5 cents on July 1.
- Transit tax (If you live in Victoria) β 5.5 cents.
- Federal excise tax β 10 cents.
- Finally, pay the five per cent Goods and Services Tax on top of the total price.
People destroying the environment should pay higher prices to pollute?
If you believe the charging people higher prices to pollute is the answer, you’ll want to consider asking where all the extra tax dollars are going? The problem with regressive taxation always revolves around the Government having the ability to pick economic winners and losers. Socialists assume that higher prices and higher taxes lead to a better standard of living, when in actuality consumer demand leads to a better standard of living. There’s an assumption by socialists that the government can solve economic problems π.
Governments are the problem, it used to be common knowledge that most politicians we’re idiots who had a talent for sales. People tend to hate salespeople, but for whatever reasons, socialist-political-salespeople known as Politicians get a pass? I assume because like a bad boy or bad girl pickup artist, certain politicians know how to say the right words that touch the right buttons and therefore release a trigger in people’s minds that say, things like this John Horgan salesperson is deserving of more of my hard-earned money? Of course, the John Horgan types wrap their sales-pitch in words like “social security for the poor”, “Social justice”, “free stuff for people who vote for me” or some other socialist wording that gets their followers hot and bothered.
Get to the Weed, Man
So, in case you’re wondering why Cannabis legalization costing B.C. communities millions, I tried to illustrate it above. It’s because of the NDP, no offense to the people of B.C, but the mere fact that Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) is a thing, is an indication that maybe the good people of B.C should consider shrinking the size of Government. Government Auto Insurance π, Government Auto Insurance π, Government Auto Insurance π, should tell you all you need to know as to why Cannabis legalization costing B.C. communities millions. The Ontario Liberals destroyed Ontario’s private sector auto insurance and oddly enough somehow Ontarians now have lower auto insurance rates than British Colombia π. That’s hilarious!
Ok, I’ll put it to you like this, does anyone remember Blackberry? Now imagine if Blackberry Nationalised and was owned by the current NDP British Colombia Government and because via this government decree, Apple and Samsung smartphone weren’t banned from selling their products in British Colombia, well that’s what’s going on with your Cannabis legalization, that’s what’s going on with ICBC. No, competition equates to higher prices, Canada Post a Federal Crown Corporation doesn’t have to concern itself with petty consumers, Canada Post raises prices when Canada Post feels like it!
If Canada Posts unionized employees want more money, typically Canada Post wil in some shape or form capitulate and pass the higher prices onto Consumers, Canada Post has no competition, so there’s nothing Canadian consumers can do about it. ICBC a Provincial Crown Corporation does the exact same thing, Employees want more benefits, ICBC has no competition, so it passes the cost onto consumers.
So in the Cannabis industry in B.C, I suspect is having a hard time pricing their Cannibus at fair market value, because of the layers of government agencies that want their cut of the profits. There’s this assumption that Government or Social Justice greed doesn’t exist? Public Sector workers don’t work for free. In Canada most public sector workers are unionized, Government people want their money and the consumer is secondary. I started this post off by discussing Fiat money and central banking for a reason because they reality is that these government socialist schemes only work because the B.C government can put its citizens in debt to pay for it’s growing Government workforce. The B.C government oddly enough appears to be incapable of indebting Cannibus consumers, consumers have too many private sector, underground, local neighborhood weed man options. Cannabis, after all, is just a plant!π
