Work From Home Full time Drop-shipping
For those of you not familiar with me I must point out that I am a pretty simple guy when it comes to making money online. I admit that I’m a bit of risk taker at times but in truth I like to keep things simple in case you’re wondering why it’s because I don’t like working hard. Let me reiterate that I don’t like working hard for long periods of time whenever I start something I like make sure that all my bases are covered so in the long run I don’t run into stupid problems. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t recommend complicated work at home solutions. Drop-shipping is one of the easiest work from home solutions because the world has eBay and Amazon these are worldwide market places with customers already there.
My personal thoughts on Drop-shipping
Drop-shipping used to be on my work from home page a few years back however I took it off because I know people make more money using drop-shipping if they understand email marketing. Where I come from we have this place called Wal-Mart and one of the reasons people especially where I live shop at Wal-Mart is because Wal-Mart has spent millions of dollars reminding their customers why they should shop with them. I say this mainly because this is what email marketing teaches people to do online. It teaches business owners to keep in touch with their customers it teaches business owners to develop a relationship with their customers.
Now let me say this right email marketing teaches people to keep in touch with their customers it doesn’t teach people or businesses to SPAM their customers. Subtle advertising is what I recommend I do not recommend sending your customers offers upon offers upon offers because what will ultimately happen is your customers will start to click that spam button just like in Television advertising what people do when they see a commercial they don’t like they either change the channel or turn of the television. As a business owner it’s important to remember that you’re NOT bigger, better or smarter than your customers in fact I recommend approaching your customers as you would a loved one. Sorry to bring politics into this but I think one of the reasons Obama won the 2012 election was because he allowed himself to be vulnerable. If you’re an honest person you should welcome attack or questions from your customers.
No two people are the same but free advertising is Free Advertising
I say all of this because being a successful drop-shipper means you may run into all types of people some who will want to sabotage your business for any reason and when or if this happens you will have to be prepared both mentally and financially to take in most instances unwarranted hits from customers. The downside to eBay has always been feedback score this is where your customers have the advantage and this is another reason why I took drop-shipping off the work from home page.
Again I bring this back to Wal-Mart and what it does well, I remember being in line at Wal-Mart and seeing a women returning bread, eggs, milk and fruits just to name a few thing. Unbelievably she got all her money back with a return recite reminding her that Wal-Mart has the lowest prices around. I hope reading this doesn’t discourage you because I’m telling you this so you know customers of yours will be different and you should expect the unexpected and be ready to handle the unexpected.
The reality is this woman who got her money back is great for Wal-Mart because this woman will tell her friends to shop at Wal-Mart because Wal-Mart will refund your money on almost anything. Sure people will purchase and refund but what about the things people need and what about those people who hate the long refund lines no person is the same but free advertising is free advertising.
What is drop shipping exactly?
In short drop shipping is selling items for wholesalers at retail prices. Example you purchase say a Sony PlayStation 3 for $200 at a wholesaler and then sell it to an eBay customer for $250. Your cut in this instance is $50. The downside to drop shipping is you are at the mercy of both your customers and your wholesale suppliers. Some people have made hundreds of thousands to millions using drop-shipping companies others of made nothing in fact some of ended up in debt and had their feedback score crushed by eBay. The reason most people fail at drop-shipping is because they don’t keep in touch with their customers which is something I highly recommend you do if you want to be successful at eBay or if you want to have your own online store.
The dream of every drop-shipper is to open an online store and have thousands of customers that deal with them directly from their online store. However it’s seldom that this feat is achieved because most eBay or Amazon sellers remain comfortable making one or two sales here and there. Keeping in contact with your customers and building a good reputation is key to having a successful drop-shipping business. Another thing I recommend is ignoring your competition and making sure you have your bases checked. Don’t run into drop-shipping thinking money will fall from the sky be ready and the embrace the challenges that lie ahead in your drop-ship business.
