When the Huffington Post is writing articles talking about the housing market looking weird, you know the housing market in Canada is looking weird. Canada has a price control problem, Keynesian economics and Marxism tend to work until they don’t, this is problem Canada is going to run into in the future, especially with the USMCA deal which if approved is going to cause the Canadian economy all types of problems. What’s not being understood by Canadians regarding the new USMCA deal are the Provisions the U.S can use at its leisure in the event Canada doesn’t live up to end of the deal, which by the way is biased towards the United States.
Being that Trump is a business person, that’s gone through litigation several times you and the people he hired have a knack for these things and Canada will figure this out in a few years. That aside, the housing problem in Canada is here to stay for a while with or without the crash, because most of the new housing developments being built in Toronto and Vancouver aren’t based on demand.
Even the Huffington Post charts show that why I constantly write about CMHC is because they as well as the BoC created a disaster that quite frankly there’s no easy fix or answer too. It’s not like people have to live in Toronto, people are in Toronto because this is where the jobs currently are, this is where the action is, however, make no mistake about, there are a number of big cities all around the world on the decline. If the housing market in Canada isn’t allowed to crash, what’s going to happen is we’re going to have an economic collapse as bankruptcies start to mount and a lot of people can’t even get into the game.
FSCO has done a pretty good job, the problem is the people that are responsible with their money, aren’t going to contribute to this mess, it’s the money morons, the foreign investors, the domestic investors investing to flip, investing for cash flow, there’s a lot of them now and well until the free market can bring out the Raid bug spray and kill these cockroaches this problem will get progressively worse and there’s nothing no politician can do it about, because these condos that nobody wants are already built! Canada is so screwed.
