In my opinion there’s nothing better than self hosted autoresponders. The reason why self hosted autoresponders are not used by the average internet marketer is the maintenance. I remember signing up with an email marketing company and feeling so annoyed with the free advertising the company was getting. Every automated email i would send with company came with free advertising for the company. At the bottom and at the top of every email I sent with this email marketing company was either the email marketing companies logo or a link to their website.
To make things worse sometimes my emails would not get delivered to the recipients. The emails i would send would get sent to my subscribers junk email folder. When i investigated why this was happening i found out that this was a result of other members sending their subscribers junk emails and their subscribers we’re sending those emails to their junk folder. As a result of this companies like yahoo and hotmail we’re doing the same thing to any other user who was using this email marketing software to send automated emails.
that’s the huge difference with self hosted autoresponders, first things is you are not giving away any free promotion to the email marketing company, secondly as long as you practice sending good emails to your opt in subscribers you will never have to worry about these types of issues.
