Driving Ontario over the cliff: Doug Ford’s fiscal plan – Nathan Laurie – Opinion

Well it’s election time in Ontario and the Liberals are in full propaganda mode. First things first bash Doug Ford.
As Canadians with a brain know our media is biased towards the government in power. Even more so when the government in power is Left leaning. A lot of Ontarians are reliant on a bigger government for their survival. So when Doug Ford comes along and talks about NOT GROWING THE GOVERNMENT it becomes a problem. Now! I didn’t say “shrinking the government”, I said not growing the government.

That’s the thing with Liberals that conservatives for the most part are afraid to confront. It’s never enough for Liberals. Liberals want the government to control everything. Keynes, Marxists, communists, leftists they all want to control the outcome of the economy, their livelihoods in many respects are dependent on it. When their solutions don’t work they assume that if they change the economy another way then it will work. The conservative approach to governing, to economics is let the market decide what people want. The truth is both ways have similar results, however they create a different types of people.

Conservative people when left alone are lively, they’re not that careful with their speech because Conservatives believe in their heart of hearts that Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Leftist Liberals on the other hand believe that sticks, stones and words should be regulated and controlled by the government because the aforementioned can harm people and it’s the government’s job to protect people from everything, including themselves, because the incorruptible government knows best.

This type of thinking translates to a Leftist robin hood mentality where every government job has a purpose and no government post should ever be challenged for its existence, no matter how much it’s costing taxpayers, furthermore the government should have the right to outsource it’s regulations to the private contractors at a cost the Liberal government deems fit.
