Angela Merkel: EU will retaliate against Donald Trumps tariffs

Well, maybe Germany is in a position to retaliate against Trump’s tariffs, but what about the rest of the EU? I’m not so sure. Trump’s views on trade are closely aligned with my own, the only part that differs is his view on currency. Personally, I’m of the belief that all currencies have the right to devalue their currencies if that’s what they deem fit. If a currency is to be looked at similar to a Gold backed currency then my view is we should return to backing currencies with some sort of commodity.

That aside, the truth of what’s happening with trade stems from labeling, ingredients, mixtures, and one’s ability to change the terms of an original agreement by simply by altering the terms of one’s countries internal regulations. To keep things simple, let’s say the U.S and the EU sign a free trade agreement to freely import and export Oranges, however 1 year into the agreement the EU says only Oranges without pesticides are allowed into the EU, and America doesn’t return the favor thus allowing oranges with or without pesticides into the United States.

Who wins that trade? Obviously the EU, now imagine the EU did this on all fruits and vegetables and America did nothing. What would happen? Well, nothing would happen unless a Donald Trump figure shows up. That’s where I stand on this issue. Now, what makes this so interesting is the entitlements of all the nations involved in what is now being called a global trade war. Trump’s position is simple, America is losing its manufacturing jobs and they’re losing their manufacturing jobs because American manufacturers are not allowed to sell into other countries without getting smacked with huge fines or tariffs.

Trump thinks this is unfair, I actually think this is unfair, of course my position has more depth than this because in my personal opinion America would be able to compete if it simply rid itself of minimum wage laws and other business stifling measures but to start, to make your populous argument valid and worth the American people following I agree that Trump should look to the world to halt in its pursuit of socialism and globalization.

Because the truth of the matter is that when Trump leaves the white house if the world continues on its current path there is nothing stopping regulations from putting a complete halt to global growth. For the most part what Trump is doing right now is forcing discussions to take place. Now, from an economic standpoint, Trump is absolutely right, but from cultural standpoint what I’m reading a lot of are countries taking a defensive stance against Trump.

How dare Donald Trump tell the EU how to govern itself?

In many respects what you’re really seeing in this instance is the EU taking a bully stance against Donald Trump. How dare Trump tell the EU how to govern itself? But, when asked how dare EU tell America how to govern itself. What I’m writing about you ask? Well, Trump is implementing tariffs that didn’t exist before in America, however, if you read my Oranges example above similar tariffs already existed in the nations Trump is trying to renegotiate with.

This is the part that’s being missed in all of this because, for the most part, we have either an extremely Left-leaning media or an extremely right-leaning media. The extreme right-leaning media is against tariffs period, the extreme right doesn’t care what another nation is doing, the extreme right-leaning media will say Tariffs are bad. The extreme left-leaning media similar to the extreme right doesn’t care too much about the details or the basis of the tariffs either, their schtick is to make sure the status quo remains intact, as not to put mass fear over the public. Extreme leftist doesn’t put much thought into economics, their belief is that these things simply work themselves out. The extreme right stand firm on principals and simply prepare for the coming economic collapses. Trump, on the other hand, believes in an open marketplace, meaning no tariffs, everybody plays fair or we make unilateral trade deals with each nation.

Trump views the world the way a business person views the world. In business, you don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket, because this leaves you and your business compromised if the country or entity your reliant on starts to jerk you around, which is basically what’s been happening to the United States. This from Trump’s perspective deserves the utmost attention and for someone like me I actually I agree with Trump.

Now, personally, I wouldn’t take the steps Trump has taken but lets us be honest it takes a special human being to be able to do what Trump is doing. I’ll be the first person to give him credit where credit is due. 99% of humans would fold if they were in Trump’s position.

With that said, if we want a better world it’s up to us freedom fighters to have the bravery of a Donald Trump, to go against the narratives being forced on us from special interest groups. Common sense should tell you that capitalism is the only method to wealth and freedom, however it should be expected that there will be people who disagree with this, so unless you have the balls to fight for liberty, justice, freedom, and capitalism the way Trump is I advise you to join forces with the EU, the Canadian and Chinese governments that seek to assure big corporations remain big and small business remains small and uncompetitive.

Interesting times ahead.
