China, India, the United States, and now Saudi Arabia. What’s being exposed with Trudeau’s cabinet appears to be their inability to negotiate. They’ve taken hard lined approaches to negotiations with other countries which doesn’t allow them or the countries they’re negotiating with any flexibility.

Sure I’d like Saudi Arabia to change, but you don’t walk into another person’s house and demand they clean up it immediately or else. Furthermore, Prince Mohammed bin Salman is by no means perfect but he’s been trying to make Saudi Arabia more moderate(a good thing). If you know anything about the embedded corruption in Saudi politics you know how hard it is to even get a law passed allowing women to drive. There are regions of the world Canadians are WARNED NOT TO TRAVEL TOO!

What Trudeau’s government in my view inadvertently did was put Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a predicament that made him look very weak amongst his own people. Saudi royalty does get assassinated, the hard balled approach taken by Canada in my view put Prince Mohammed bin Salman at risk of being killed or removed from his position. Saddam Hussein doesn’t look so bad now that the world has been introduced to ISIS. Muammar Gaddafi dies and now we’re hearing about slave trading in Libya.

The art of negotiation revolves around trade-offs, trading, bartering and economic benefit. Whether you like Saudi Arabia or not Migrant Workers still flock to work there. Which is an indication that Saudi Arabia is doing something right, Venezuela has almost the same amount of oil and other poor Latin countries who speak the same language and share similar culture have no interests or desire to migrate there.

Trudeau’s Gender neutral culturally diverse cabinet better wake up to the realities of the world soon otherwise they may face more politically hardships moving forward.

interesting times ahead.
