411.ca Advertising Scam WATCH OUT!!!

It appears 411.ca has taken a turn for the worst actually it seems as if Canada’s telecommunication industry as a whole as taken a turn for the worse. In Canada we pay the highest fees for cell phone service in the world and what’s worse is the laws protecting consumers are minimal and now places like 411.ca are not just soliciting us but they’re solicitating us using foreign workers!

411.ca Telemarketers

I received a call like many of you reading this have; mainly because I was bold enough to add my phone number to a Kijiji listing. So the 411 representative who clearly was from India (not a person of south Asian decent living in Canada) solicits me and asks me to advertise my services on 411.ca because apparently they receive thousands of hits per day on 411.ca from people looking for what I’m selling.

What bothers me about 411.ca

Here’s what bothers me about this… First thing is 411.ca is outsourcing their telemarketing so if you give them for example your credit card who knows who else will get it. Being that I’m in financial services I meet a lot of people that are victims of identity theft and this is the exact reason why I’m writing this. 411.ca or anything you thought about 411 being  part of our government is false.

I also want to refer anyone reading this blog post to the better bureau website. 411.ca as of December 2013 currently received a C+ grade where “A” is the best and “F” is the worst if you don’t believe me view it for yourself and if possible consider reading the comments found there. I think 411.ca has evolved or is slowing evolving into a scam and they’re using lenient Canadian laws to their advantage. I don’t trust them and the fact that they’re using places like Kijiji to steal phone numbers so they can solicit people shows their desperation. Read the reviews and complaints on the BBB website to see the negative impact they’re having on the lives of Canadians and Canadian small business owners also try to remember that most people never report when they’ve been wronged!
