Maxime Bernier quits Conservative party – August 23, 2018

Well, well, well, it’s about damn time a little shake-up in Canadian politics, finally, a real conservative political voice that speaks my language and is used to the big stage. As many of my readers know I’ve been talking more and more about the Libertarian Party of Canada, but let’s be honest, the national political stage is not a platform just anyone. The leader of a political party has to want it, he has to be a little selfish, a little bold, principled, brave, patient and hey let’s be honest, in Canada he should be fluent in the French language.

Guess who checks off in all those categories? Yup, you guessed it, Maxime Bernier, I have a little Liberal confession to make, I liked Jean Chrétien as an individual. I didn’t like his politics but I did like him representing Canada. Come on Canadians let’s have an honest discussion here, if Quebec wasn’t filled with Socialists we’d all have a house there, in fact, most of us would probably move there or frequently vacation there. America’s are dominated by the English, Spanish and Portuguese languages but we in Canada have our own unique identity called Quebec. A reminder of our history, and if it’s one thing Trudeau does very well on the international stage is his transition from speaking English to French.

I know I’m drifting off the topic of economics here, but allow me to say that one thing I can’t stand about Andrew Scheer is his French, it sounds horrible, in a debate quite frankly I think Trudeau will simply outclass Andrew Scheer, those of us that focus on economics understand that most Canadians as of now could care less, a large number of Canadians think politics just fix themselves, so on a national stage when Canadians compare Scheer and Trudeau it’s a very possibility that the people will settle for the good-looking guy with the clueless look on his face.

Bernier vs. Trudeau, on the other hand, is something very different. Bernier doesn’t even have to win this coming election all he has to do is get people thinking about when he does. This economy is going to crash Canada, I’ve been saying it for years, in fact in my creationist opinion Trump is the perfect guy to deal with an economic collapse. I actually think Trump was put on this earth as a sign of changing times and I think Maxime Bernier is a signal that Canada is going to change forever.

I’ve talked with people from Quebec a lot of them are starting to wake up and the main reason they’re waking up to the flaws of socialism revolves around their restrictions on the internet. The interesting thing about Canadians access to the internet is that it’s allowing us to see how overly regulated we are. As a simple example, I challenge my fellow Canadians to visit Amazon.ca or Walmart.ca and then visit Amazon.com or Walmart.com do you notice the price differences? Do you notice that Americans have way more options than do Canadians? Why is this you ask? Well, it revolves around the same concept as Supply-side management.

A lot of industries in Canada are monopolized which of course leads to less competition which of course leads to higher prices for Canadian consumers. Then, of course, we pay more sales taxes in Canada, then again we get hit with taxes for working hard, we pay taxes for driving, we pay taxes for saving the environment, we get taxed for buying locally made goods, we get taxed for buying foreign-made goods and then to make matters worse we get an additional tariff tax for being patriotic.

I was shocked when the Conservatives came out in support of supply-side management, that moment for me felt dirty. Personally, I would have been fine if the Conservatives or PC’s simply did nothing. What I personally expected the Progressive Conservatives to do while this argument between Donald Trump and Trudeau was happening was to say nothing concrete. This would have actually been the perfect time for the Conservatives to be critical of current Prime minister Trudeau regardless of the position he took. A simple “This is not how the Progressive Conservatives, would have handled this matter” would have been enough for me.

If cornered into answering the question I would simply answer that “We the Progressive Conservatives, believe that Current Prime minister Justin Trudeau is taking Canada in the wrong direction”. Something along those lines was what I expected, however that’s not what happened instead Progressive Conservative leader Andrew Scheer sided with Trudeau, it’s at this point that I had to look within myself, because I felt dirty, I felt filthy I felt like I was part of the problem in Canada and it was this point that I realised that going forward I’m going to have to reshape how I view politics.

I’ve been critical of Stephen Harper, personally, I think Poloz and Harper although representing to separate entities are equally responsible for this credit debacle Canadians will be forced to face in the near future, however I was willing to excuse Harper because Harper, in my opinion, did a good job bringing conservatism back on the National stage. With that said I have a hard time relating to Scheer, with the exception of lower taxes I don’t know if I would want to shake Andrew Scheer’s hand if I saw him in person.

However, if I met Maxime Bernier in person I’d want to ask him some questions, because at the very least I know I would get an honest unfiltered answer-back. Andrew Scheer, on the other hand, is a feminist, now he’s not as extreme as Justin Trudeau, so the women in the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada are qualified to be there however he’s still a feminist, meaning that chances are I’d feel uncomfortable talking to him, knowing that he has some extreme biases that I wouldn’t want to unintentionally offend.

My stance towards extremists is actually quite common amongst Canadians. A lot of us are suffering in silence, our freedom of speech has been compromised by social justice and our economy has taken a backseat Marxist derived ideals. Sure on the surface as Canadians, we currently enjoy a fantastic standard of living in comparison to the rest of the world, but we also have a lot of government intervention, a lot of public service workers and a lot of people heavily dependent on the government to survive. The working class Canadians have found their purchasing power weaken tremendously, the private sector, especially under Justin Trudeau, is being replaced by public service workers and the left-leaning media in Canada from a conservative point of view sounds like a propaganda machine.

When I read about job numbers in Canada as an example, I have to give credit where credit is due, the left-leaning media reports on massive growth numbers in the public sector, however, most Canadians don’t understand how public service workers are funded, so because of this Justin Trudeau does sound like he’s doing a fantastic job as pe minister. In Ontario recently Premier Doug Ford slashed the Government workforce and immediately he was attacked and leftists attack had little to nothing to do with economics, instead of their arguments revolve around politicians having the ability to work less hard or be more incompetent.

In the private sector if a business is spending more money than it’s making that business will go bankrupt in the government if the government is spending more money that it’s taking in Canadian politicians look to raise more taxes and hire more staff. Because there hasn’t been a real conservative voice to point this stuff out, the average Canadian simply assumes that this is just how things should be. Well, in my opinion, Maxime Bernier might change or challenge that thinking.

You’ll h=often hear me talking about 3% of the vote, I stand by that number, whether it be the Libertarian Party of Canada or Maxime Bernier real conservatives need 3% of the vote, the Green Party stopped an Oil Pipeline from being built, the green party in effect actually made Canada more reliant on Saudi Arabia, that’s how powerful 1% – 3% of the political vote is. You’re a force to be reckoned with. My vote for this coming election is up in the air, however I will be paying very close attention, Maxime Bernier, going forward.

Interesting times ahead.
