Former Canadian Politician Sarah Doucette abandons Municipal Election Because of Hard Work – September 13, 2018,
In the 1980’s and 1990’s when manufacturing wasn’t a dwindling sector in Canada, it was often a dream for people to have a job that didn’t require physical labor. A job that didn’t require physical labor used to be a dream come true, since the emergence of the welfare state and socialism the dream job is now, no job at all. As an example when Kathleen Wynne approved UBI (Universal Basic Income) the Liberal media in Canada made sure that they found recipients of UBI that had a business, now obviously this was hard to do because there weren’t many, but the Liberal mainstream media made it their mission to shine UBI in a positive light by attaching it to entrepreneurship. The reality, however, is that majority of the people on UBI were even more selective with what job they were willing to do.
The reason why UBI is a failure is that it’s been tried before. UBI was tried in Venezuela under a different logo called socialism. If people get UBI, of course, there will be some that work, but the majority of the people won’t work, the majority of the people won’t start businesses, majority of the people getting guaranteed handouts will assume that Government has everything under control, so they can focus on not working and living the life they want to live and as long as their UBI and government benefits keep rolling in they’ll be justified in their beliefs.
Venezuela crashed because in the real world “we never get something for nothing”, in the real world there are trade-offs or bartering transactions happening all the time. Everything looks easy to the average person because we all trade using currency/money but for the industrious minds of the world they’re trading something for a benefit/profit. If you want to get away from this model and basically live off the land, don’t expect paved roads, electricity brought to your home, food delivered to grocery stores etc. Because humans as of 2018 aren’t going to spend their entire lives accommodating your personal needs without compensation.
With that said, it’s very interesting to read the article that can be viewed below about the reasoning on why former City Councillor for Parkdale-High Park Toronto’s Ward 13 Sarah Doucette won’t seek re-election in the upcoming municipal election 2018. Below was her reasoning for leaving,
“It’s not, to be honest, a job I want,” she told CBC Radio’s Metro Morning on Thursday.
Doucette said the change would pile on work to the point where she was no longer directly in touch with community members.
“I came in as a grassroots activist … working in the community,” she said.

Blaming Doug Ford, High Park Coun. Sarah Doucette bows out of municipal election
Basically, she’s telling the public that she only wanted this job for the fun times, all that extra paperwork? Yuck, let some hardworking loser handle all that stuff, who in the hell wants to work extra long hours serving the public? My life is too short to serve the public in a way that makes me do work someone who is more capable should do. This is the government, in a nutshell, she’s not drilling holes in the ground, recently a few guys laid tile near where I live and I’m sure Coun. Sarah Doucette probably made the same amount if not more than what they did for that labor-intensive physical job.
But no, this extra paperwork, and meetings, they’re too much a burden to bare for the former Coun. Sarah Doucette. The truth is most government workers think like this, this is the culture of government and once the arguments stop, behind the scenes what you’ll get with these Government people is a lot of talk about what they’ll be doing after they’re finished work for the day. The beauty of a Government job is that if you’re good at selling yourself, you don’t have to necessary deliver on any of your promises, because the truth of the matter is if there’s a lot of councilors making a bunch of promises they can’t keep to voters, the arguments within city counsel justify their incompetence.
In Switzerland things are in reverse from how they are in Toronto, the Municipalities get the most taxes and have the most power, and because they’re so close to the community, if they’re voted in to do a job and they don’t deliver they’re ousted. In our system in Canada, the truth is being a city councilor is a dream job, especially in Toronto, because political gridlock allows a lot of their buffoon like stances on issues to remain on unchallenged or discredited because they’re never able to materialize and the larger government gets the worse this problem gets. Also, the larger government gets the harder it is to fix problems.
What I recommend anyone reading this to do is to look up Argentina’s congress, observe how large it is for such a small country. This is what’s happening to Canada as we get increasingly more socialist. What Doug Ford is proposing isn’t a radical idea by any stretch of the imagination, it’s actually the opposite. However, since 2010 Former Canadian Politician Sarah Doucette has gotten used to dysfunction, she’s made friends and the mere thought of losing those friends is terrifying, she wants her friends back, so things can be fun again like it used to be. Meanie Doug Ford wants to take all of our fun away. Awe isn’t that so sad? I hear a lot of American’s talking about an economic crash coming to America, well if you’re Canadian you should be very worried about a crash happening here too.
Interesting times ahead.
