New USMCA a deal has Canadian Corporatists Scared they’ll Lose their Monopoly – October 2, 2018,
I’m a fan of Trump for a few reasons, my number one reason for being a fan of Trump revolves around his very high IQ. He forces people to respond to his accusations, he’s a very offensive minded person, which of course, if you’re thin-skinned will force an emotional response from you. A lot of people think of Donald Trump as a thin-skinned person, but if you give the average human the podium that Trump has, they’d bore us with their speech. Public speaking is a skill, being able to sell people on an idea is a skill, being able to get people who otherwise wouldn’t vote, to vote is a skill, renegotiating a deal that was already signed is a skill.
Because people react emotionally to Trump they often don’t realize the words that are coming out of their mouth’s. Now, I’d like you to watch the CBC video below, I’m going to link to the video, in case the CBC Youtube Channel blocks me. USMCA a good deal ‘under the circumstances,’ say former premiers
Now, I understand, I get it, a lot of us Canadians have been trained to think big corporations are a good thing, we’ve been taught that our government should redistribute income to entities that have our best interests at heart, we as Canadians have been taught that we’re stupid children that need a big government to teach us how to think, we’ve been taught that raising our taxes is a good thing, because those higher taxes will go to causes that the government thinks is best, because we lowly taxpaying Canadians are economic morons that will waste our money on growing the American economy, or Chinese economy or Korean economy, instead of growing our own economy… Right?
Wait a minute here, aren’t manufacturing jobs in Canada disappearing anyway and aren’t many manufacturing jobs being replaced with public sector jobs? Trudeau’s job numbers looked great the last quarter, look at all those public sector jobs he created? All those government workers are going to manufacture things in Canada right? What’s that you say? No, Public sector jobs are typically service sector jobs, the government doesn’t make much of anything? What the government does best is it creates rules to complicate things for the private sector? No, this couldn’t be true, but if it was what would you do? Would you be silent as your countries economy slowly dies or would you stand up and say something.
In most left-leaning countries one of the first things the governments of those socialist or communist nations do is they go after your freedom of speech. Canadians are allowed to travel to Cuba, I challenge any Canadians to go to Cuba and speak out publically against the Cuban revolution? Once you can’t speak out against something you don’t agree with, you’re now limited in how you can approach certain problems. There is so much corporatism rooted in current modern day Canadian culture that to speak out against it sounds absurd.
Because of Donald Trump Canadians are having conversations we never had before, people have to remember that a lot of these corporations in Canada have existed for decades, this is nothing new, the only thing new is that people are able to speak up now because the media no longer has a monopoly on information. It’s important for Canadians to understand that Libraries have this information, however, a lot of people don’t go to the Library. When I go to the Library the people I see there most often are East Asians.
As a group, East Asians economically are some of the smartest people in Canada. I say this because, in a socialist economy, the economically intelligent will be fine, because unless you go full socialism Venezuelan style Keynesian economic laws will always have to have loopholes in them. Part of the reason the Canadian housing market has skyrocketed out of control is that in any Keynesian economy there have to be loopholes. The only time there aren’t any loopholes are in a free market economy. The bad part to a free market economy is that there are booms and busts, which is a good thing, but in this type of economy the reliance on government disappears because boom and bust cycles equate to super cheap stuff.
Fire sales, liquidation sales, competitive pricing this is capitalism, what person do you know that don’t like buying high-quality stuff on the cheap? You rarely if ever see competitive pricing in the dairy sector in Canada? Even when the milk is about to expire, ever wondered why? Well, the answer is Quebec is the supplier of 50% of all the milk consumed in Canada and they didn’t have to compete to get 50% of the market share.
Quebec got 50% of the Canadian market because it was granted to them by the Canadian government, that’s why dairy prices don’t go down unless of course, the government subsidizes them. Now, I can hear some of you saying well I don’t want American milk on our shelves? Well then buy Canadian milk, I buy Canadian most of the time, I feel safer buyer Canadian a simple Canadian label is good enough for me to buy Canada, but I don’t think anyone should be forced to buy Canada. I think that’s wrong and I also think Canada has lost the moral argument. This is a rather embarrassing time for Canada and I have to again remind Canadians about debt, there’s a debt crisis coming.
The U.S federal reserve is at odds with Donald Trump and there raising rates whether Trump likes it or not, this is going to have an effect on the Canadian economy. I advise my fellow Canadians to be prudent in the days ahead.
Interesting times ahead.
