Canadian Steel Makers are Dependent on Foreign Job Creators – October 20, 2018

The CBC just confirmed Trump was right about Canadian Steel being a National security threat to the United States, and to be honest I’m very disappointed to hear this news because this tells me that the problem is worse than I initially thought in the CBC article that you can read for yourself by clicking the link below, the following is stated:

Canada’s new steel tariffs will ‘kill businesses’ in push to please U.S., lawyers warn

Canadian mills can’t meet demand

“We’re not structured the same way the Americans are. There’s not a ton of slack that could be taken up by the domestic mills here,” Goldman said. “Imports have historically played a much larger role in Canada relative to the U.S.”

Canada’s steel mills are mostly foreign-owned and oriented toward large American clients, not smaller Canadian orders. Early export data suggest Canadian steel is still heading south, despite the U.S. tariffs.

I hope Canadians think about that for a second, as many people know I’m not a fan for workers unions because the reality is that Steel Workers in Canada should be paid a lot of money because we don’t have enough Canadians willing to do those jobs. The problem we have in Canada is that we’re raising generations of socialists and Marxists, so the assumption by a lot of Canadian employees is that they’re being treated unfairly by their bosses, which may be true, but in America, what most of the employees do is, once they understand the Steel trade they’ll go into business for themselves, and when a former employee goes into business for him/herself they become much better employers.

Which is why in a lot of different sectors of the American economy a lot of employers frequently give out bonuses, perks and other goodies to their employees. That’s how the free market is supposed to work, but in Canada, we’ve fallen victim to corporatism and therefore we have a lack of entrepreneurs in Canada in many different sectors. In this instance, Trump was able to point out the obvious which is a lot of Canadian steel that is being shipped to America is made from foreign entities.

It’s time Canada reconsider how we do run our economy because if our steel industry in Canada can’t even meet domestic demand, do you what’s going to take a hit? The Canadian dollar, we don’t make enough steel in Canada to meet domestic demand, we do not make enough steel in Canada to meet domestic demand, we don’t make enough steel in Canada to meet domestic demand. That’s very sad and this again is going to put an increased strain on the Canadian dollar, which means the Bank of Canada may be forced to raise interest rates, why should you care if interest rates rise, because a lot of Canadians are in debt and can’t service that debt if the price for that debt goes up.

Canada also has a labor skills shortage which is something that’s shoved under the rug. Anyway, consider reading that CBC article, because that’s only the beginning. The new USMCA deal is a multilateral trade deal that restricts how Canada does business, as I’ve stated in other posts, the only good trade deal is a bilateral trade deal, Trump gave us that opportunity, but Trudeau’s cabinet rejected it, as I stated when the USMCA deal was finalized, Canada lost, Canada could have also used Mexico doing their own deal with America as an opportunity to do a bilateral trade deal, instead they allowed President Trump to push them into a deal that’s making people start to ask questions

‘They’re wrong’: Freeland rejects claim USMCA ties Canada’s hands on trade

Interesting times ahead
