Public Sector Jobs a Sign Minimum wage hike was the ‘job killer’ Doug Ford says it was: October 25, 2018,

Do you know which people don’t have to worry about minimum wages? People who work for the Public sector and people who work for Crown Corporations, and typically it’s these people who are demanding higher wages and higher minimum wages. It’s very easy to demand higher wages when you work for the public sector. People who work for the public sector rarely have to worry about the employer closing down or being profitable.

People who work for the private sector know that it’s in their best interests to vote for the Liberals or the NDP, people who work in the public sector typically have philosophies that revolve around their entitled view of the world, Because public sector workers also have taxes taken out of their paychecks and no employer to answer too. Their assumption is all employers should behave in a similar manner as their employers do. This is of course why you’d find a lot of people in CBC who are for a higher minimum wage. The article below was written by Mike Crawley who is a provincial affairs reporter in Ontario for CBC News.

To understand how a person’s viewpoints are formed it’s important that you look into their history, how did they spend their lives, did they ever manufacture anything, did they ever do any sort of international trade, did they ever have to make payroll for 10+ years. It’s important to understand that if a person never owned a private business that required them to pay their employees a guaranteed wage that these people’s opinions will be formed based on theories.

The article below is another CBC article written in August 2018 which talks about the 54,000 jobs added to the economy. The title of that article sounds great but guess what it says:

Canadian economy added 54,000 jobs in July, mostly part time, (The public sector added 49,600 new jobs, while the private sector added 5,200 positions.)

Yes, you read that correctly The public sector added 49,600 new jobs, while the private sector added 5,200 positions. So you also understand within the body of that article the following was also stated:

Statistics Canada said Friday that the economy added 82,000 part-time jobs, but that figure was offset by a loss of 28,000 full-time positions.

I began this article off writing about Public Sector jobs for a reason, public sector jobs pay more because they’re Government jobs and Government jobs aren’t created based off of only demand, in many instances government jobs are created based off of social justice, feminism, equal rights, gender equality, equal pay for equal work and other philosophies that sound nice to voters to don’t produce anything tangible in the real world.

Making matters worse are Canadian Crown corporations, now an argument has been made that women aren’t making as much money as the men at Canada Post, without getting into the specifics, let’s stay on the service and assume this is true, what’s not being talked about is how much MORE money Canada Post employees make, and much more job security and pension benefits that Canada Post employees already have over DHL, FedEx and UPS employees, equal pay for equal work? Well, why doesn’t the non-crown-corporate sector make as much money as Canada Post employees? It’s because Crown Corporations partially belong to the State, therefore how the employees are paid isn’t based on the demands of the market instead it’s based on what the government believes the people of Canada should pay for services provided.

Making matters worse at Canada Post is the fact that no private corporation can legally compete with them, therefore a scenario of artificial inflation(higher prices for customers) is created which is why as of now Canada Post employees in Ontario are paid way more money than minimum wages. CBC another Crown Corporation is partially owned by the Government, being that Mike Crawley works for the CBC there’s no reason or incentive for him to write an article that explains both the pros and the cons to raising or even having a minimum wage.

In a portion of Mike Crawley’s article, he writes the following:

Every month since the chamber published its analysis in August 2017, Statistics Canada figures show unemployment in this province remaining below six per cent. This July, six months after the minimum wage increase and labour reforms took effect, Ontario’s jobless rate dropped to 5.4 per cent, the lowest it has been since the year 2000.

Now if you simply go here: Canadian economy added 54,000 jobs in July, mostly part time, (The public sector added 49,600 new jobs, while the private sector added 5,200 positions.) and you understand the difference between a Public sector job and a Private Sector job then you’d automatically see and understand how biased Mike Crawley’s article is.

But this is why I’m here and this is why you’re still reading this post, if you go to Mike Crawley’s article you’ll notice that the comment section isn’t available. It’s because Mike Crawley’s article is a propaganda piece, more than likely he’s a leftist that believes that all businesses should function in the same manner as state-owned enterprises.

Well, Canada the reality is this system is getting closer and closer to a serious crisis, in case you haven’t noticed private small and medium-sized businesses of any substance are drying up, they’re disappearing and according to CBC’s own website are being replaced with Government jobs. Justin Trudeau is running a deficit, and the Bank of Canada is being forced into a position to raise interest rates that are equating to more money being spent by Trudeau’s Liberals to service the debt.

A lot of people say Alberta’s Canada’s most important province, I agree and disagree, personally, I think Ontario is Canada’s most important Province because Toronto is typically the location most people think of when they think about Canada and because of this we get a lot of people looking for jobs right here in Ontario. What the minimum wage has created is a disincentive for private business owners to be here.

Wages Are Higher When There’s No Minimum Wage

The problem with people who never owned a business or who’ve never worked in some capacity away from the government is that they don’t understand the free market. The earth doesn’t make Hockey Players like Sidney Crosby every day, The Planet doesn’t make Basketball Players like LeBron James every day, therefore when one of these magnificent athletes are created the demand for them rises and there will be teams, companies, corporations that will pay above and beyond more than what these individuals talents might be worth. That in basic terms is how people get rich via the free market without any government intervention.

This is exactly how the job market is supposed to function also. Please understand reader that all of us have individual talents that can yield us not only a lot of money but a lot of freedom as well. The problem throughout human history has been fear, we’ve been taught that if a group of people are too smart and find a way to become wealthy that we should somehow redistribute their wealth to serve the needs of everybody else.

What’s often ignored is how these people’s talents are already serving the needs of everybody else. In Ontario, currently, we have electricity 24/7/365 if there’s a power outage in Canada it’s a major news headline. In most countries, they can only imagine having electricity in their homes. When you research most of these poor countries what you’ll notice most of the time is that there’s a big government that has to be consulted prior to any changes in their economy.

Why this is problematic is that a few men can’t do all of this micromanaging, only free people who are incentivized can do this. So let’s say you put a minimum wage in a poor country where there’s no electricity, the government artificially creates an inflationary problem.  Understand that once you create minimum wages and other regulations you’ve just raised the barrier to entry, you’ve also raised the cost to enforce these laws and regulations, this destroys wealth.

The problem in modern day society in Canada is that public schools train children how to be employees. Public schools and other government institutions rarely teach their students the other side of the equation, which is how to be smart, intelligent, loving industrious business people.

Which is why Leftist belief in the dogma they preach, that in most instances they’ll intentionally ignore the obvious flaws in how they think and instead use financial numbers that cater to the propaganda they’re writing about. Leftists aren’t good at debating, however, they’re great at arguing.

In many parts of Europe, minimum wages don’t even exist, the reason why they don’t exist revolves around particular industries not being able to be created. In Canada we’ve become increasingly dependent on China, the question is why? Why has Canada become dependent on China? It’s because it costs too much money to make things right here in Canada

So guess what happens manufacturers don’t make things in Canada. So, what’s slowly happened in Canada is that we’ve become accustomed to paying more for cheap crap, why? Because we don’t have alternatives, our alternatives, our made in Canada alternatives don’t even exist anymore.

Adding to this disaster is that we put hefty tariffs on other developed nations who try to sell us stuff, so a lot of European and even American items never make it across our borders. If you don’t believe me look at the difference between Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, you’ll notice that a lot of items listed on Amazon.com aren’t even available to Canadians. Do you know why this is? It’s because of regulations like the minimum wages that demand that if you’re going to do business in Ontario Canada as an employer you must pay your employee $14 per hour.

Now think about this for a second, imagine your business made toys that sold for $1, but you had to pay each employee $14 per hour to make a toy that would sell in Canada for just $1? what would be the profit motive for your business?

Let’s also not forget about environmental concerns that Ontario imposes on Ontario businesses and other costs that other countries don’t have to worry about. But here’s the kicker that goes unnoticed by leftists, the people of Canada are still willing to purchase these foreign made $1 priced products that we priced ourselves out of producing and manufacturing?

So the theory goes how do you make this all work then? Well, that’s where the free market picks up the slack, that’s why the Chinese are some of the best Savers in the world and why Canadians are some of the most indebted people in the world. Once your perception of wealth creation is based on frivolous government regulations like the minimum wage, your entire view of the world economy is distorted. Again I’m warning Canadians the longer it takes this economy to collapse the worst things will be when it does.

There are a lot of jobs in Canada that currently can’t be filled by Canadians because we’ve created so many barriers and regulations to entry that even our skilled people would rather avoid participating. When a job has to many rules most people simply won’t do the job. Nobody wants a boss or a government authority breathing down their necks. employees and Employers are the same people and neither wants to have several bosses looking over their shoulder. Be warned Canada we’re nearing the breaking point.

interesting times ahead
