NDP says families waiting for 2,000 new long-term care beds in eastern GTA – November 12, 2018,

Part of the reason I often write about the cost of living and regulations is that most people have a hard time understanding the cost to purchase certain items and also the cost to pay regulated employees. there are certain regulations that are necessary and then there are certain regulations that are frivolous. What ends up happening when the government creates regulations such as minimum wages and the Canada Health Act is what happens when your options are limited? What happens when everything is micromanaged and the taxpayer spent their entire lives paying for things they believed or assumed would be free when it’s time for retirement?

Well, what happens are the same people that help create the disaster are the same people that claim they have the solution to fix it. Consider typing buy a long-term care bed in Canada into Google and see what prices pop up. What you’ll also want to do is look up the price to pay for a nice per hour, whether it be a health care aid, a Registered practical nurse, or a Registered Nurse look at what these people are paid, namely the health care aids, then look at minimum wages and then think to yourself if you were a health care aid would you rather flip burgers for $14 or deal with a highly regulated health care market?

After clicking the links above consider the disasters we’ve created in Ontario, disaster number one is cost of living, because cost of living in Toronto is so high, Canadians have decided to stop having children, so Canada is becoming increasingly dependent on immigration, because a lot of jobs are being left vacant, disaster number 2 incentivizing welfare, there’s a lot of people who are government dependent in Ontario, this isn’t just the elderly this includes young people also, problem number 3 debt, when a person is in debt it means they’ve spent more money than they have. These types of people can’t afford to be taxed anymore and most of these people in debt are our young people, our millennials, the people who will have to take care of the baby boomers in the near future.

A lot of these Millenials have nothing to give and if the government keeps taking out loans to cure the current demands of elderly, the cost of living is going to continue to go up and worst still this is going to happen while the pool of eligible workers shrinks. The reason why places shouldn’t have a minimum wage revolves around what the market pays for people to do certain jobs. If I’m a health care aid I’m sorry in a few years, I’d demand at least $20 per hour minimum.

Why should a health care aid make the same or a similar amount of money as a person who flips burgers? Furthermore, if I was a manufacturer of long-term care beds whose cost of labor has also gone up because of minimum wages also has to profit from this government controlled monopoly because their costs have also gone up drastically. Have people in Ontario paid attention to real estate prices? To put things in their proper perspective New State has a population of 19.7 million people and Ontario has a population of around 15 million people, New York has a minimum wage that’s even higher than Ontario, however for some very strange reason Home prices in Toronto are more expensive than New York?

Now, mind you the numbers are a bit confusing because living in New York City for obvious reasons is more expensive than living in Toronto, however, what’s not confusing is what happens when a New Yorker moves to upstate New York vs. what happens when an Ontarian leaves Toronto. When a Torontian leaves Toronto they don’t see much of a difference in their cost of living whereas when an individual leaves New York city prices come way down for them. This, of course, stems from less government intervention into the private sector in New York. In Ontario, the governments want taxpayers to pay for everything which is, of course, the reason why businesses in Ontario continue to leave.

I keep warning Canadians we’re turning into a service sector economy rapidly and the problem with this is that there’s going to be fewer taxes to collect and Canada will be more dependent on imports which also equates to a less generous private sector. Understand that the reason why you want to manufacture things in Canada is that of situations like the one being pointed out about the political NDP opportunist Andrea Horwath.

There aren’t that many long-term bed manufacturers in Ontario anymore, and many of the ones that are here are dependent on other countries to send them parts. Canada better wake up soon, the playing politics games need to stop because when this collapse hits a lot of Canadians won’t even know where to begin to fix it.

Interesting times ahead.
