Ontario’s Much Needed Social Assistance Reforms Should Address Eliminating Minimum Wage – November 23, 2018,

There’s a myth that permeates throughout the world that convinces people that cost of living is supposed to go up every year. The reality is the cost of living especially in Canada, namely Ontario should actually be coming down, way, way down. Technology has gotten better, humans aren’t working as hard anymore and the need for government has actually decreased since the advancement it technology has if anything made a lot of regulations like minimum wages for sample useless.

The real problem we have in Canada is that our public schools refuse to change their curriculum to match the needs of the economy, so you have a lot of students in school being taught subjects that will make them obsolete to the Canadian economy without some form of social engineering created by a leftist government. If the school curriculum matched the needs of the economy, what would actually happen is instead of our school systems making so many employees, what would happen instead is our public school system would be pumping up Employers.

One of the reasons why I write about minimum wages so much is that Canadians have priced themselves out of the Canadian markets. There’s a penalty for minimum wages, the penalty equates to excuses not to work. Why work if I don’t have too? Why should I work if I can be a single parent that gets government assistance? Why should I work with these ridiculous rental prices? Why should I work when everything is so expensive, why should I work when I can get the same amount of money if not more for not working?

It’s common sense, and the truth of the matter is the reason why Leftists like having a generous welfare program is that it gets them votes, the reason why Leftists raise minimum wages is because it gets them votes, the reason why Canadian manufacturing is dwindling and why we’re turning into a service sector economy is because Leftist want votes. The problem is so systemic now that we have multiple generations of individuals who’ve been receiving welfare. It’s actually beneficial in many ways to be a single parent. To give you an idea of what I’m talking about according to StatCan the provinces with the most generous government benefits had the smallest recorded shares of marriages:

The smallest shares of the population that was married were found in the territories: Yukon (37.6%), Northwest Territories (35.0%), Nunavut (29.7%) and in the province of Quebec (35.4%).

What is Quebec known for? Socialism, Socialists, everywhere you find a collectivism in full swing you find people not getting married. Children raised by two parents tend to be more successful — at school, in the future labor market, in their own marriages, than children raised by a single mom or dad. However, the census data shows that fewer Canadian couples are getting married

Why this is happening is because the government is incentivizing single motherhood if you read the CBC article titled:

Ontario’s social assistance reforms look like ‘window dressing,’ anti-poverty activist says CBC

You’ll notice that the images used are a single mom and her daughter (Trish Huculak and her daughter Alicia, are recipients of Ontario’s social assistance program who are worried about the latest changes by the Ontario PC government.)

Now, Trish Huculak actually works, according to the article she works for a charitable organization called working for change and the United Way, however, she still requires social assistance. The real question one should ask is why? Well the main reason is the cost of living in Toronto and many other Ontario cities are too expensive, the other question that’s often ignored is how people spend the money they do have. I’ve met poor people who are in debt, mismanaged the money they do have and often vote for the government to bail them out somehow.

Well, every public service costs money, every government regulation costs money, and every time Canada raises taxes it costs money. The costs are then passed onto Ontarians who service these costs by paying higher taxes, depending on what politician is in power that politicians will redistribute the money collected in taxes to entities it feels are more worthy. This, of course, leads to a higher cost of living, making matters worse, unfortunately, are things like minimum wages, because idleness is the devil playground when people accept minimum wages, what they’re actually saying is some jobs aren’t worth having.

So if Canada stops manufacturing clothing, the price of clothing goes up, if Canada stops manufacturing electronics, the price of those goods go up as well, making matters worse with all of this are Canadians universal purchasing power. As the Canadian dollar declines, it makes it more expensive for us to import things into our country, this further makes costs higher and increases poverty. The worst part of minimum wages is that the people that could solve poverty problems aren’t allowed too, because it’s illegal. As an example, Charities can’t become big-time employers, and can’t help a lot of people primarily because it’s illegal for them to pay their employees less than minimum wages and most charities are dependent on charitable donations to function.

As many of my readers know I’m very charitable, I understand how this industry works and there’s a reason why so many charities are so aggressive to get donations, a lot of people that work for charities collect a paycheck. Minimum wages, rent controls, and other regulations that affect the poor, forced charities to change their policies, charities don’t really build housing anymore, charities don’t even hire as many people as they used too, workers health and safety and other regulations, of course, increased costs and liabilities for charitable organizations.

What Leftist governments all over Canada have been trying to do for years is replace charities with government-paid public servants and in case you didn’t know Public servants get paid a lot more money than their private sector equivalents (social worker vs. United Way equivalent). Remember that if there were no minimum wages, charities could actually hire more people, and chances are they’d probably receive more money from donors also. Charitable giving is being replaced with taxes.

Let me ask you a question give the option to choose would give money to a charity of your choice or pay taxes? The answer is obvious. The solutions to poverty as I’ve been trying to tell Canadians for years already exists, we have the cure, the problem is how Canadians perceive the world, the education is the problem, how information is being given to us is the problem, we’re the problem.

Canadians love big government and Government employees get paid a lot of money, Canadians also assume that raising minimum wages and other regulations solve problems, no most non-environmental regulations actually cause more problems than they solve.

CMHC which is a Crown Corporation similar to Canada Post and the CBC was designed to help Canadians get affordable housing, well guess what happened once CMHC was created? The housing market spiked, now housing is all of sudden to expensive for the average Canadian family and single parent.

Mail delivery is expensive and media coverage in Canada is biased, primarily because the government workers are incentivized to keep the poverty cycle going because if they don’t they’ll be without a job. This is what happens when humans create unnecessarily or what I like to call frivolous regulations.

Is Doug Ford perfect? Of course not, but he’s at least trying to address the problem from a solution-oriented standpoint. If I were Doug I would have been more upfront for the get-go, but as we know if Doug Ford does this the CBC and other government-funded organizations will spin the story and change the narrative, so instead, Doug Ford is trying to do things in small increments.

I always tell my readers the truth and the truth is choose freedom and Liberty of Collectivism. We as a people don’t need the government to tell us how to love each other. especially now our dependence on the government has become less and less, the problem is the government wants you to believe that you need them more now than ever.

Interesting times ahead
