Vehicle smashes into east London LCBO in New Year’s Day break and enter – Global News -January 1, 2018,
So, it appears at least for now, criminals are noticing a loophole in LCBO and personally, I think this problem will be remedied, however, the costs associated to fix this problem will be passed on to the Ontarian taxpayer. I hope Canada eventually fazes out Crown Corporations because these types of entities are not only expensive but there are loopholes to them. Loopholes that taxpayers end up paying for.

Being that Crown Corporations are designed not worry or bother with competition, they tend to be built or designed with aesthetics in mind. If you’re an Ontarian that’s visited some U.S States you’ll know that Private Sector via permits deals with Alchohol industry differently from Ontario, where selling Alchohol, for the most part, is centralized. What’s beginning to happen, is Ontarians are beginning to see subtle weaknesses in LCBO and those weaknesses are being exploited, now why this could potentially be a problem is because if LCBO makes changes to one store chances are they have to make changes to all their stores, which will be extremely expensive, because LCBO is a crown corporation these costs will be passed onto the consumer.
So, chances are they’ll be a universal price increase at LCBO’s, now I’m only speculating here, but if these LCBO break-ins continue Ontario’s alcohol consumers should expect to pay a little more.
Interesting times ahead.
