CUPW wants Canada Post to Pay For a new bank for low-income people and turn the post office into a hub for green technology – January 20, 2019,
If you work for Canada Post, come on? I mean really come on? Can’t you see that you’re being used as a political prop for CUPW? Those of you under CUPW do realize that they’re affiliated with CLC or The Canadian Labour Congress, which by the way as I’ve stated in prior posts that their history is rooted in Liberals and Communist coalitions. What’s starting to happen in Canada is there’s an awakening happening, now I’m not so naive to believe that Justin Trudeau has no chance to win the upcoming election. I actually think Trudeau should be favored to win the upcoming election, the problem is the Canadian economy isn’t exactly what it used to be.

The problem with Leftism, whether you’re a Progressive or a Communist is that in order for your economic dreams to become a reality you have to create price controls. Progressives and Communists prefer using the force of Government or even collective bargaining(Collectivism) to benefit specific individuals. In Quebec there’s something called the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers, they’re a collective group that controls prices, because of their existence the price of Maple Syrup is artificially higher, sounds like a great idea in theory, but in practice what it’s lead to is a lack of innovative Mayple Syrup productions in Quebec.
With that said the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers will defend themselves by referring to what was happening prior to their existence, however, people don’t have a problem with their existence, the problem they’ve created is they’ve used the power of the Quebec government to suppress any competition and therefore what they’ve inadvertently caused are not only enemies, but emerging foreign competitors who are leaner, more efficient and now more than ever in a better position to destroy Canada’s Maple Syrup industry if they’re ever allowed to enter into the Canadian Market.
Canada Post is in a very similar situation, and it’s in this position primarily because of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. CUPW has caused a lot of jobs not to be created in this country, I’ve followed this story, Canada Post has offered to increase their workers pay several times, I think Canada Post workers forget that Canada Post is a Crown Corporation, employees of Crown Corporations whether they’re Federal or Provincial tend to get higher pay, if you’re unaware a Crown Corporations are state-owned enterprises owned by the Sovereign of Canada.
So, in reality, the money Canadians pay for mail unlike the United States isn’t based on comparative pricing of the nearest competitor, it’s a made up number to make sure that Canada Post is profitable without blatant price gauging the Canadian consumer. Because of legislation in Canada, no private courier companies want to compete with Canada Post. Even if they could, they know it’s not worth the risk, because one government legislation and that private courier company is yesterday’s news.
Canada Post created this, primarily for the benefit of themselves and their workers. The entity disrupting this Harmony is CUPW, I’ve been saying for years, chances are if Canada Post workers got rid of CUPW unless there’s some type of internal corruption at the top colluding with unions, employees would more than likely see a massive pay increase, with additional financial incentives for workers willing to additional shifts.
Let me point out that the reason I’m writing these posts is that the Canadian economy is getting very close to crash and what often happens when an economy crashes if the people don’t understand the root causes is that the people will unintentionally accelerate the crash which will turn it into an economic collapse. Venezuela, France I’ve written about Argentina, these aren’t 3rd world countries, these are or were developed nations, that allowed their public sectors to get too large while at the same time legislating Price controls in very key industries to the economy. If you’re working for Canada Post you’re in a very important industry to the Canadian economy, I think it’s silly that you are, but this is the reality and CUPW is using you for a political stunt and eventually, it’s going to backfire.
The creation of Public Sector unions is a disaster, but I genuinely want Canada Post workers to understand that they’re being used as a political prop for CUPW. Low-income bank? greener technology? these are the demands of the union when based on what was said before, what they are most concerned with was workers health and safety? Wouldn’t it be wise to tackle those issues before taking a massive project like Greener technology? I advise Canada Post workers to ask for specifics of CUPW’s demands and also ask if it has the potential to hurt your bottom line.
Now, in regards to a low-income bank and the great First Nations People of our country, starting a bank isn’t something easy to do, a lot of Schedule 1 banks in Canada are a crisis away from insolvency. I actually found it odd that CUPW would use France, the U.K., and Italy as examples of profitable low-income banks. In case CUPW hasn’t been paying attention, the indigenous of our country are called First Nations, meaning they were here first, they’re not from Europe! Therefore you shouldn’t be applying a one size fits all approach to something that’s been proven to be a complicated problem.
Also, I don’t know if Canada Post workers want to be known as exploiters of the poor or exploiters of our First Nations communities. People should also remember that prior to the creation of the European Union or the currency known as the Euro, what was happening to most European currencies. With that said I have to get back to my real job, to learn more about CUPW’s demands click the link below:
