I want to point out first and foremost that SNC-Lavalin is an engineering company. Let me say this again SNC-Lavalin is an engineering company, we’re not talking about an unskilled labor force here, we’re talking about engineers. If you’re an unemployed engineer you’re a lazy bastard, end of story, end of the argument. Do you know the problems most countries in the world have? Attracting engineers! If your country has no engineers, your country is a shit hole!
Want to know why most countries in Africa are shit holes? The ideologue will say “low IQ” No, it’s because Africa has the worlds largest perpetual brain drain! Hey, smart African guess what we have for you? What? a free ticket out of this shit hole! I’ve met a lot of Nigerian and Senegalese Engineers in my time, People from Senegal often speak French fluently which helps the Senegalese people of higher intelligence to weigh their economic options, making matters worse is that the continent of Africa which by the way the French have a certain degree of control over is filled with leaders(Dictators) who are openly Socialist! The ‘have not’ Province of Quebec, the province that doesn’t non-European migrants, the province that really thinks it has the ability to attract masses of Europeans doesn’t rule out buying SNC-Lavalin shares? The Euro€ has a lot more value than the Canadian dollars has, this isn’t the late 80’s or early 1990’s when most European currencies were worthless (because of socialism oddly enough).
Even if you’re a die-hard Socialist you have to be able to see the correlation here? Do you want to know why Quebec feels the need to Nationalise or I should say buy shares of SNC-Lavalin? It’s because their government basically bought everything else. Quebec, as it stands now, is a business shit hole, no growing business in their right mind will go to the Province of Quebec unless Quebec promises them some sort of Supply Management or Government protection system. Maple freaking syrup has a cartel monopoly in Quebec.
Come on Canada, really, you honestly can’t see the correlation here? On my blog you know I love talking about Crown Corporations. CMHC a crown corporation that assures people and entities who purchase their mortgage-backed securities, that in the event of a housing crash, their private investors will be paid no matter what, CMHC mortgage-backed securities are backed by Canadian taxpayers, so guess what happens to real estate and rental prices all over Canada? If you guessed inflation! You’d be right.
Socialists in Canada have supply management systems down to a science, unfortunately for them, wages haven’t been rising much, because in the real economy especially with technological advancements, the cost of living in Canada has actually been declining, what’s not allowed to decline are the prices people pay to Government employees and contractors. Government-backed individuals and entities cause the most price inflation and well, thanks to Justin Trudeau’s deficit spending, a lot of pressure is going to be put on the Bank of Canada soon as investors are going to start questioning Canada’s sustainability. Most of the job growth in Canada is government related. If let’s say Quebec does buy shares of SNC-Lavalin, wouldn’t it be safe to say that they’re disincentivizing any potential SNC-Lavalin JOB CREATING competitors?
The State of New York, pretty much an American Liberal shit hole, has lower prices on Alchohol than the Province of Ontario? Curious to know why? Well, Ontario has a provincial Crown Corporation called LCBO, guess what the convenience of LCBO does? create unions, Unionize you say? Oh, of course, employees of LCBO Unionized, shoot I’d unionize if I were them too, a government-created monopoly on liquid drugs? Common sense would tell you to Unionize, but not only do they unionize but they pass all their union-related wage inflation costs onto Ontarian consumers YEEEAAAAH! So, Ontario pays more for Liquor than even the Socialist Republic of New York State!
Prices are so high that even the USD-CAD currency conversion still forces the Federal and Provincial governments to put tariffs on U.S goods coming into Canada. Sure instead of using the word tariffs, they use the words Duties and taxes, similar to shipping and handling where the “duties”(handling charges) can be whatever the government wants it to be and the taxes, well, of course, it’s in the Provinces best interests to keep those taxes high, you know as to prevent those evil, demonic, capitalistic Americans from offering we lowly Canadian consumer serfs cheaper prices!, How dare America do this to us, Grant ye government thine unlimited ability to tax and tariff thine own tax-payer!
Anyway, I bring this up, because if Quebec is a have not province, why shouldn’t they save jobs, right? right? Canada you do know this system is coming to an end sooner or later right? and when it does the most difficult part to explain to Canadians whose economic IQ’s are lowering every year is how the free market is supposed to operate. This is how Venezuela and all the other shit hole regions ended up the way they are. Once Socialism becomes the culture of your country and the inevitable economic collapse occurs, the believers in big government will assume that capitalism caused it.
