Contractors hired by the City of Toronto Use TaxPayer Dollars To Go On Shopping Spree – May 1, 2019,
Now, understand that what I’m about to write I’m writing from a personal perspective, based on my experiences working as a laborer for a variety of companies who often got contracts from either the private or public sectors. Ok so how it works when a city hires a private contractor to do a job is, the private contractors will do any and everything in their power to cut costs, sure they’ll tell the unsuspecting government people who are paying for their services(using taxpayer dollars of course) that they’ll provide the best services anywhere in the world, but the reality is once the Government pays them that large sum of taxpayer dollars, they’re going to make sure they as the private contractors come out on the winning end of the deal. meaning in more instances than not they’re going to do a half ass job.
This is life in the private sector if you’ve ever worked at a sweatshop, which is something I’ve done since I was 15 years old, there are scams employees will do intentionally to make sure that they get paid more money while doing less work. Example, I used to work at a manufacturing company here in Toronto, I can’t forget this because I was around 18 years old, and stupid me thought that I should work hard for the boss so he’d hire me, well, stupid me was pulled over into a corner by a couple of employees 2 week into my hire than I’m working too hard and if I continue working at the pace I was working at I would have problems with the other employees. Why? Because the employees were scared that there would be less work in the future if all the work was completed too soon!
At a very young age I was exposed to the realities of how poverty occurs, poverty occurs because most people want “job security” and have zero knowledge about business or the benefits of having options, so instead what most people will do when given the chance is find a powerful entity and use the force of that powerful entity to enslave others for their own personal benefit. This is why a person like me who believes in individualism hates the concept of collectivism and big government. Because in most instances Politicians come from a place of privilege and are often not aware of what happens in the private sector.
Did I just make the argument that the private sector is corrupt? No, I just made the argument that all people are corruptible. Prior to a large segment of the Canadians population replacing Judeo-Christian values with a secular government overlord, people would be compelled to work hard, people who didn’t work hard or slackers would usually be called out for what they were. Now, slackers and the lazy are often rewarded with fantastic retirement packages, welfares, placed in special victimized classes by the government and often fought for by politicians. So, as an example cutting down trees, is something most people could pay to have done themselves, yes I understand there are power lines, but give that entire job to the government? Oh yeah, it’s because Ontarians love to pay higher taxes?
In many respects, Ontarians and Canadians, in general, should realize that when they hire a politician to fix multiple problems we could be fixing by ourselves, what we’re actually doing is hiring a manager, now lets for argument’s sake say that there’s a push for higher minimum wages, do you think the costs for those government contracts will go up or down? Furthermore, if contractors of the government know that by doing less they’ll get paid more, what do you think is likely to happen?
Now, the story below is basically a story of contractors who got caught, simply for being overly lazy, but make no mistake about it, this attitude by a lot of people who work for the government is pervasive. Have you ever listened to public sector unions or unions who represent Crown Corporations? The make the people they represent sound like Mother Teresa, even though they get paid at a way higher rate than they would if they didn’t have any job security. I’d like to make something very clear, the causes of any perceived global poverty are very clear to me.
They should be clear to you too, so individuals are simply trying to use the power of the government to their advantage and in their pursuit of this, they’re creating pockets of poverty, that continue to grow in scale. On a personal note I don’t write posts to force people to change instead I’d rather make those of you reading my posts to see how these problems get started so when the inevitable crash happens, you’ll know instinctively how to fix it.
Regarding the story below, what I personally think happened is that the people hired found any and every excuse not to do certain jobs, maybe because of violation this or that based on code this or that. It will be a blame game between the contractors and the city during the arbitration, which also costs Taxpayer dollars because more paid government workers have to be paid to mediate what happened. This is how taxpayer money gets wasted if Doug Ford as an example makes cut-backs to the public school system, who pays when the teachers respond? Yes, the children, but paying the PUBLIC school teachers salaries are taxpayers, namely private sector taxpayers, working for private sector companies.
It’s forgotten by most that our society is based on VOLUNTEERISM, I personally don’t think most government workers should be getting paid a livable wage, because the reality is, it’s government wasteful spending, wage and price controls that cost taxpayers the most money. People forget Government workers get paid and they often get paid a lot more money than the rest of us, for doing a lot less work. I don’t know too many government workers who do overtime? Do you? Most government workers, which include employees of Crown Corporations hit the exit door right at closing time, making sure they don’t work for free. This is the real world between employee and employer, just because an employee gets a more fancy title won’t change his/her behavior. All people are corruptible, so let’s stop being surprised when a government contract goes wrong!
