Overall funding to the York Region District School Board is set to increase by $1.7 million – Ontario Teachers Want To Get Paid More For Doing Less! – June 6, 2019,

There’s a myth in Canada, that Leftists consider a fact, that myth is that debt isn’t that big a deal, the solution is simple they say to themselves ask the government for more money. They don’t care how the Provincial government gets the money so long as they get it. The problem that’s been brewing in Ontario for years is servicing Ontario’s debt, is become so costly, that if something isn’t done soon, Ontario will have to file for bankruptcy or they’re going to have to raise taxes.

Now, in most Democrat-run states like Illinois, Detroit, California and New York people are leaving, why? Because taxes and the cost of living are going up while public services are declining. Why? Because Public Servants don’t work for free, also Public Servants have Pensions that for the most part have bankrupted many of these U.S States. In Ontario, the previous Liberal Governments created more debt for Ontarians than California has. It hasn’t shown itself yet, because of equalization payments, but because Ontario is a growing province and the demand for public services are also growing, it’s only a matter of time before not one public service might have to get canceled but all of them.

Ontario teachers when given more money, give themselves a pay raise, not only do they give themselves a pay raise but they also find ways to do less work. Compounding the problem is tenure, the York Region District School Board has job protections that encourage them to be inefficient with the money they receive. Ontario teachers go on strike why? Because they want more money, they don’t go on strike for the children, their unions go on strike and complain because they want more money for doing less, they also don’t want to allow school vouchers, primarily because if they have competition their competitors will do things more efficiently and when there’s school choice people will typically gravitate to the better schools, which puts into question how particular schools are being managed.

What most Ontario school boards prefer is for all decisions related to public education to come through them, so when they come up with an idea, they don’t have to worry about the price tag attached to it. Now, if you know anything about education, you’d know that there are lots of efficient, inexpensive, creative ways to do things, but you see, if you’re not incentivized to save money, you won’t what’s worse is if prior politicians gave into all of your demands, via your unionized collective bargaining, in time you as an Ontario teacher would assume that Ontario taxpayers have an unlimited source of income that you’d convince yourself that the children need.

Now, of course, the children’s needs require the teachers to get paid more money and hire more staff, but even when a concept that challenges teachers to allow parents the right to choose schools is presented, the public school teacher doesn’t like the idea of competition, why? Because it scares them that another institution might come up with a better, more cost-effective method of teaching that puts their jobs at risk.

Yet at the same time, people who work 12 months a year in the private sector who pay public sector salaries have to constantly be on the lookout for their own job security being threatened. Public sector workers shouldn’t be allowed to unionize, Unions are something for the Private Sector because a public sector union can be the destruction of society. The money that funds a public sector union comes from the taxpayers, via the private sector. If a person opts to be a public servant, they’re working for the public, which is a privilege, not a right! Summers off? How many of us wish we had a job that gave us summers off?

It’s not like Doug Ford is making cuts, the real issue here is greed, the Public School teachers are greedy and their individual greed revolves around their collective bargaining that hadn’t been challenged by prior Ontario governments. If you’ve been getting away with increasing your budget while at the same to decreasing the services you’re offering, of course, you’d love the gravy train to continue.

It’s the teachers and their Union canceling courses, why? Because their entitled Public School, unionized teachers don’t want to do the extra work, don’t want to take a pay cut and don’t want to allow parents to have school choice.

It’s not like there isn’t an abundance of unemployed school teachers all over Ontario, the problem is these unemployed school teachers can’t teach because the Ontario school boards want full control over public education, they want to consume all the tax dollars and be the final decision makers on everything related to Public teaching, the collective bargaining revolves around their entitlements being addressed before the needs of the children they’re supposed to educate. This is the main reason why public schools are deteriorating, anytime funding is increased, the teacher’s salaries are increased and their work burdens are often decreased.

The cost of living in Ontario rises primarily because Government unionized salaries rise, Ontario public debt comes from paying Ontario public servants! The Ontario teachers are blaming Doug Ford why? Because they’re incapable of attracting any money because those of us who would be willing to donate to public schools DON’T because we know if we do the Unionized teachers wouldn’t use the money wisely to help the students, they’d instead use the money to enrich themselves.
