The Corporatist Republican Era is coming to end: Mitt Romney booed and called ‘traitor’ at Utah Republican convention – May 2, 2021,
In 2021, like it or not we’re living in an era created by Corporatist Liberals who believe it or not, actually used to shrink the role of government, by shrink I mean a shift from Government controlling/nationalizing industry to government signing contracts with big corporations to do their dirty work for them. In Canada, we know of the Paul Martin, Jean Chrétien era, in America a lot of Americans speak proudly of the Bill Clinton years where Bill Clinton stated “It’s the economy, stupid” and really did go on to sell out American medium and small business.
During these eras in the 1990s, what a lot of people tend to forget was what these Corporatist Liberals and Democrats did, first thing they both did was dissolving The Glass-Steagall Act which prior had effectively separated commercial banking from investment banking. In America, as an example, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation(FDIC) was created in June 1933.
Glass Steagall came from the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration and the reason this confidence insurance scheme came into being was that FDR wanted to manipulate the markets with his ‘New Deal’ in March of 1933 and what he wanted to show Americans was that their money and the U.S economy was safe so Americans could go on and keep spending as they did prior to the great depression, which by the way preceded FDR.
I remind the reader that there was a demand for FDR, there were Leftists in FDR’s era, who wanted the government to fix wages and fix prices, I don’t like it when people to try frame FDR as a man who rose to power without a demand, no, there was a demand for this type of president and this demand back then came into existence because just like now, some people wanted a giant welfare state. FDR with his market manipulation actually prolonged the Great depression and what got America out of the great depression was a WORLD WAR, which by the way was never paid for, because as we all know, Richard Nixon cut ties between the U.S dollar and the Gold Standard.
This one change of ending Glass Stegall is one of the main reasons why a lot of people have a hard time interpreting modern economic data. It’s now a lot easier to manipulate inflation data, and by inflation I mean the amount of U.S dollars in circulation both base and digital.
As most people know, printing money hides deflation in the economy, and the end result of hiding deflation in an economy typically ends in hyper-inflation. Luckily for America, there exists this Euro-dollar system, in which there exists an entire market of U.S dollars in circulation completely independent of the U.S government, this CURRENT demand for U.S dollars outside of the United States benefits American capitalists greatly.
This system has also allowed Corporatist Republicans like Mitt Romney to exist. When the economy is delayed from crashing, socialism is inevitable. Corporatism, however, is merely Fascism without a military, corporatism is corporate socialism and it’s the method Liberals used to revive the economy in the 1990s.
The question on people’s minds should be, why did the U.S economy need reviving when Republicans were in power in the 1990s? Well, that’s easy it was the amount of money America had spent on WARs. This is one of the main reasons Ron Paul and his brand of Libertarianism became so popular.
The Liberals instead of spending money on wars, shifted their attention to corporatism, which is why you’re seeing all of these monopolists in the year 2021. Now, Donald Trump in case people aren’t paying attention disrupted corporatism, or the corporate welfare system, which in the modern era as an example has manifested itself into CLIMATE CHANGE.
Mitt Romney, I’d argue is a republican derivative of the Bill Clinton years and it appears that the Republican Party belongs to Donald Trump now. By that I mean, the worst thing the Democrats could have done is they won the 2020 election because now, nobody has seen the Trump economy fail.
Joe Biden can blame Trump all he wants, Trumps’ support is holding firm and Romney from a Republican Party point of view, appears to be a relic of an era Republicans want to forget. Big Tech is a form of corporatism, and a lot of Trump supporters are blaming corporatism for stealing the election, well Mitt Romney is part of that corporatist club of elites.
Who are the elites? The elitist types are people who talk down to you. What I see from the Republican Party is they’re tired of being talked down too. At Trump rallies love him or hate him, he’s an engaging speaker, there are often moments during a Trump rally in which Trump just allows his supporters to chant whatever they want to chant. Trump tends to only talk down to the media and other elites, this is seductive to his supporters.
Trump has almost created a dynamic in which it almost appears that the economy is taking a backseat and it’s becoming an issue of freedom of speech and freedom of expression that’s now fueling the Republican Party.
What this means is if the Republican Party loses for let’s say the next 8 years, it wouldn’t surprise me if eventually there’s a new type of counter-culture revolution. When voices are suppressed these voices express themselves in different ways.
Based on my observations of the modern Liberals and Democrats, I don’t think they imagine themselves to be nagging parents I think they imagine themselves to be the bearers of knowledge and this clash of cultures between the believers of merging Corporate and State Powers and the Freedom fighters who want to conserve their freedoms and liberties is something that’s already expressing itself at the Utah Republican party convention.
Lastly, I’d like to point out that most people think that it’s only Trump supporters in the Republican Party that don’t like Mitt Romney, when in fact based on my research there are two different factions of the Republican Party that don’t like Mitt Romney, Trump supporters and what I like to call Ron Paul Republicans who are more silent but actually dislike Romney even more than Trump supporters dislike him and they’ve disliked Mitt Romeny prior to Trump supporters becoming a thing!
Why I say this is that Mitt Romneys’ political career, might be coming to an end! But I remind you that Mitt Romney does have a lot of money and religious supporters.
