Canada’s Wasteful State-Run Media CBC Attacks Doug Ford for Trying To Save The Tax Payer Money: Canada Post Already Does This With Shoppers Drug Mart – January 30, 2024
Personally, I don’t think CBC should have its own building. To me, this is a complete waste of taxpayers’ money; CBC should be sharing its building with a Private News corporation.
Now, one of the main problems we have in Canada is that Canadian labor unions DESTROY a lot of Canadian businesses, which equates to fewer Canadian businesses being centers for government services. The GOVERNMENT, for example, destroyed Zellers; off the top of my head, I can’t think of a Canadian equivalent to Staples.
is Canada Post a good match with Shoppers Drug Market? Which, by the way, already has a PHARMACY? I’m not sure, but what I am sure of is that TAXATION is one of the main reasons why Canadian businesses fail and why ESTABLISHED U.S. companies like Costco, Walmart, and Staples dominate the Canadian market.
Loblaws, for example, has the HINDRANCE of the WORST labour union in Canada. Loblaws is frequently attacked by Canadians for trying to make a profit, which harms their profitability.
Now, U.S. companies tend to approach the Canadian market differently, often offering higher pay and benefits in HOPES the Canadian laborer doesn’t unionize and destroy their income potential.
With Loblaws, luckily, they were smart enough to restructure their business and gain what I consider a TINY profit, compared to a FACEBOOK, for example, which does little to nothing for anyone and makes much larger profits.
When was the last time Facebook provided you with FOOD? Yet, when META makes a profit, no complaints from Canadians, but if Loblaws dares to make a profit, there’s an UPROAR from Canadian media.
How dare Loblaws make money? They must be stopped, this is mentality of the weirdos in this country. With Staples, they already have existing infrastructure that the Ontario government can take advantage of.
By the way, Staples contributes to INCOME TAXES and the CPP, so by Staples making a profit, Candian public service benefits. Whereas if Service Ontario has to pay for its own building, there’s no financial benefit for Ontarian taxpayers.
I’m personally impressed by ANY Canadian business that can make a profit in Ontario; Doug Ford was stuck with the task of cleaning up all the financial and economic disasters the Provincial LIBERALS created.
He’s trying to save Ontarians money in a SUSTAINABLE way, and of course, the process isn’t perfect because Ontario has a lot of ENTITLED voters who feel that it’s the government’s job to give them cradle-to-grave welfare.
Doug Ford DID not run on a platform of Austerity, jobs were his focus, and this move creates more jobs, Canadians should want Staples to be more profitable, the minimum wage for example is KILLING Canadian businesses, and the minimum wage is still popular amongst Ontario voters, well most businesses are not PROFITABLE with the current minimum wage law, and any additional traffic businesses can get for the INCREASED costs is good for Ontarians.
Sure, I’d personally like to see go SLASHED more aggressively, but unfortunately, Ontario is still the main destination for IMMIGRANTS, who soon become voters and often vote for more government services.
Based on the reality of living in Ontario, Doug Ford, in my opinion, has been the best logical-thinking Premier in Ontario’s history. People like me would be too extreme for the average Ontarian, who still imagines BIG GOVERNMENT has the answer to everything.
Doug Ford is making moves to save tax payers money efficiently. It’s not perfect, it’s not what I would have done, but I comprehend why he’s doing it. The reason I’m even writing this post is because the CBC should not have its own building; the CBC is consuming a lot of unnecessary resources; if anything, the CBC should be sharing a building with private news organizations.
If you live in Ontario, you can see the difference in the size of the CTV building in comparison to the monstrosity that is the CBC building. If Toronto has a housing problem, the CBC should be the first building sold off; that building is huge; I almost got lost when I went there the first time.

The current CBC building in Toronto is not only prime real estate it’s GIANT building, look up 250 Front St W, Toronto, ON M5V 3G5 to see what I’m talking about, that building is HUGE and it’s wasteful, when I went there, it was mostly empty, and it closes it 4pm. What benefit do you get from the CBC?
