LCBO represents an bygone era of the “NANNY STATE” in Ontario. Nothing is more depressing than going into the LCBO, the entire concept is utterly ridiculous. Liquor monopolies and Government run auto insurance, are thee DUMBEST things I observe in Canada.
I have to ask who in their right mind would want the government InControl of Liquor? Government workers LOVE to close shop as soon as their shift is over. And the earlier they can close their doors the better, which is the complete opposite of what a CONVENIENCE store does.
Furthermore LCBO PRICE controls on Liquor doesn’t help the government, because as you can see, the LCBO workers can go on strike to RAISE prices for consumers and restrict supply, in flate their paychecks, which then takes away income that would otherwise be going to PUBLIC SERVICES.
The LCBO is the perfect example of government overreach and it’s silly to conceive that the LCBO even has this “power”. What voter in their right mind would agree to this stupidity.
I like what Doug Ford has done, no talking just cutting. Doug Ford is by far the best Premier I’ve experienced in my lifetime.
LCBO workers are on strike for the first time in Ontario’s history, with the union representing those workers declaring a “dry summer has begun.”
Talks between the Crown agency and the Ontario Public Sector Employees Union (OPSEU) broke down, with the sale of pre-mixed drinks at corner and grocery stores a key sticking point between the two sides.
Some 9,000 workers were officially on strike as of 12:01 a.m. Friday.
While LCBO stores are closed across the province, Ontarians aren’t necessarily stuck with a “dry summer.”
