Justin Trudeau vs. Brian Mulroney – who is the worst Prime Minister In Canadian History – June 11, 2024

Posted on July 11, 2024 by RichInWriters

From a numbers perspective, it’s pretty interesting, because Brian Mulroney won back to back MAJORITY governments, whereas Justin Trudeau only won a majority government once.

Brian Mulroney in 1984. A conservative, he served two terms as prime minister (1984-1993). He led the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada in two general elections, winning back to back majority governments (1984) and (1988).

However, things get interesting when you talk about how Brian Mulroney exited politics; Brian Mulroney did not finish his second term, whereas currently, it appears that Justin Trudeau will remain for his third term.

However, this is where things get interesting. Justin Trudeau will go down in history as the most unpopular prime minister in Canadian history to serve three terms. Unlike Brian Mulroney, who inherited a HORRIBLE economy from the Liberals that stemmed from Pierre Trudeau, Justin Trudeau CREATED the worst economy in Canadian history all on his own. We’ve literally had to REDIFNE recession to keep Canadians from being suicidal.

There’s no excuse or anyone to blame for Trudeau’s failures as Prime Minister, whereas with Brian Mulroney, the problem Conservatives had with him, was his UNWILLINGNESS to engage in austerity, instead opting to “Conserve” most of the policies handed down to him by Pierre Trudeau branded Liberals.

It actually took the Jean Chrétien Liberals to give the Canadian economy a boost, which, to be fair, is likely the ONLY reason the Liberal Party managed to survive without being forced to merge with the NDP.

Most of Justin Trudeau’s tenure as Prime Minister has been his reliance on the NDP to support his UNPOPULAR government, and most Canadians clearly don’t like the NDP.

So the numbers argue that Brian Mulroney is the worst Prime Minister in Canadian history, but only because he refused to abandon similar political ideologies that Justin Trudeau is trying to ram down Canadian throats.

The genius of Pierre Trudeau is that he didn’t have to govern through the economic disasters that he created. Brian Mulroney inherited chaos and was too cowardly or ignorant to comprehend that he was trying to cultivate, similar policies that have pinned Justin Trudeau as one of Canada’s two worst Prime Ministers in history.

For both Brian Mulroney and Justin Trudeau, all Canadians who lived through it will remember how these two PMs made them FEEL. That’s what a lot of Liberals, may not be aware of right now, is that they’re going to have to rebrand, because what’s likely to follow Justin Trudeau’s defeat is the FEELING of how many Canadian lives he destroyed.

10 years is a long time. A 20-year-old is now turning 30. Imagine if that 2015 twenty-year-old still lives with his parents, has no job, and if they do have a job, can’t afford an apartment, or purchase a home, while entitled prior generations, who got “rich” from the value of their house inflating, are looking down at them as if they’re not working hard enough?

If, for example, Chrystia Freeland didn’t get a LOAN from Mommy and Daddy and didn’t make over $100K per year destroying Canada’s economy, she’d be a VICTIM of her own fiscal policies. That’s only a part of the DISASTER Trudeau caused; factor in ALL the additional taxes he created, and on paper, he’s way worse than Brian Mulroney; however, Justin Trudeau, like most leftists, won’t step down while he destroys the country, and that’s why “Conservatives” like Brian Mulroney often have trouble controlling the narrative.

Because as bad as Justin Trudeau is for the economy, he’s smart enough to comprehend perception, Trudeau staying the course, crashing and burning with the ship, he can make the argument that he did what he thought was right, whereas Brian Mulroney can never make that argument, because Mulroney GAVE UP, when it was clear his economic ideas, were short-sighted.

Lorne Vanderwoude has stated that Justin Trudeau is the worst PM in Canadian history. Well Lorne, perhaps you are unaware, or have forgotten, the Brian Mulroney years. Mulroney famously tried to ram the Meech Lake and Charlottetown Accords down the collective throats of Canadians in the late 1980s and early 1990’s. Passage of either accord would have given Quebec the power to contravene many rights that are guaranteed under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Also, Mulroney was responsible for initiating the GST, which he claimed was to be only in force until our federal debt was paid off. The end result of Mulroney’s tenure left the Conservative party with two seats after the 1993 election. And Mulroney didn’t even have the guts to absorb this beatdown himself. Instead, he left that for his successor, Kim Campbell.
