Increasingly more women have been facing pregnancy-related prosecutions in the wake of Roe being overturned and reproductive rights advocate Kaitlyn Kash says people should be alarmed. “Being pregnant can be a death sentence and now you can be criminalized, it’s horrific what’s happening here,” she said. Georgetown law professor Michele Goodwin agrees with her, noting that new fetal personhood laws are holding women to “unrealistic standards.”
