During his closing remarks following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, FBI Director Kash Patel—appointed under the America First platform by President Donald Trump—concluded his public statement with the words:
“To my friend Charlie Kirk, rest now, brother. We have the watch, and I’ll see you in Valhalla.”
For many, this may have seemed like a heartfelt and noble tribute. But for Christians, especially those grieving the loss of a brother in Christ, such a statement requires discernment. Not because it was necessarily made with ill intent, but because words matter, and what we believe about life, death, and eternity matters even more.
Why the Reference to “Valhalla” Matters
“Valhalla” is a concept from Norse mythology, believed to be a majestic hall where warriors go after death, ruled by the god Odin. For Christians, however, the only true promise of eternal rest is found in Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven.
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

So, when a public official—especially one holding an office as powerful as Director of the FBI—speaks at the national level during a time of mourning and intentionally avoids any reference to Heaven, Jesus, or God, it raises deeper questions about what voices are shaping our institutions and what beliefs we allow to lead our nation.
A Nation Drifting from Its Christian Foundations
This is not about attacking Kash Patel personally. He is a Hindu, and he has the right to express himself within the framework of his own beliefs. Christians do not seek to force others to bow before our God. God Himself does not compel worship—He invites it.
But the deeper issue is this: Why are Christians constantly expected to stay silent, while others proudly proclaim their religious or secular worldviews in positions of public leadership?
We are told that America is a Christian nation. Yet, increasingly, our public square reflects everything but Christ. And this should be a call to prayer and spiritual urgency, not resentment.
Faith and Authority: Who Should Represent Us?
Appointing leaders who do not honor the God of the Bible—whether Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, or otherwise—will inevitably result in leadership that does not reflect Christian values. Director Patel’s remarks may not have been deliberately dismissive, but they show us something important: people who don’t follow Jesus will naturally avoid invoking His name.
And that should matter to Christians.
Yes, some may argue that he was being “neutral” or respectful. But neutrality in moments like these often reveals an unwillingness to acknowledge the truth of Christ’s lordship. In contrast, Christians should never be ashamed to declare our hope in the resurrection, in Heaven, and in the Gospel.

We live in a time when everyone but Christians seems empowered to speak their truth. Perhaps it’s time we match the boldness of others with a holy boldness of our own, lovingly proclaiming the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
Hinduism and the Reality of a Works-Based Worldview
Hinduism, like many other world religions, is based on karma, reincarnation, and a works-based path to enlightenment. This worldview teaches that suffering in this life is simply the result of past life actions—a belief system that, when taken to its logical end, can justify inequality, class division, and injustice.
Even though India officially outlawed the caste system decades ago, its influence remains deeply entrenched, especially in rural areas. When a religion teaches that your position in life is preordained by your past lives, it discourages justice and compassion, and enables the powerful to rationalize their dominance.
This is why Christ’s message is so radical and so needed.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

The Gospel of Jesus flattens hierarchies, offers dignity to the poor, freedom to the oppressed, and grace to the sinner. That’s the eternal truth missing in systems like Hinduism, secular socialism, or radical materialism.
Truth, Culture, and Language: A Warning to the Church
We must not forget that language shapes culture, and culture influences behavior. When nations abandon Christ, they begin to speak, act, and legislate according to false beliefs and empty philosophies. Soon, the name of Jesus is replaced with mythologies, and Heaven is swapped for “Valhalla.”
As Christians, we must stay vigilant and rooted in the truth:
- There is only one Savior, Jesus Christ.
- There is only one Heaven, and one path to eternal life.
- There is only one Kingdom that will last forever—and it’s not built on myth or ideology, but on the Rock of Christ.
Director Patel may not know this. But we do. And we must live and lead accordingly.
A Final Word of Grace
To be clear: we do not condemn Kash Patel. We pray for him, and we pray that he, too, would come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. The same goes for every public official, every grieving heart, every searching soul.
And to our brother Charlie Kirk—a bold voice for truth and liberty—we say: Thank you. Your courage reminded us that governing begins with the Gospel, that freedom is from Christ, and that no matter how dark the hour, light wins in the end.
