The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) Urging Mark Carney’s Federal Government to Immediately End the Canada Post Strike –October 2, 2025

Posted on October 2, 2025 by RichInWriters

Based on our analysis, Mark Carney continues to present himself more as a polished figure than a decisive leader. His academic achievements and résumé are impressive, and we acknowledge that. However, from a private-sector perspective, there are recurring behavioral patterns in large corporations—and in governments influenced by them—that demand closer scrutiny.

One clear example is Brookfield Management, which has been aggressively pushing to corner the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) market. While ESG is marketed as a framework for responsible business, its real leverage lies in the Social component. This is where censorship enters the picture. The ESG agenda, if universally accepted by corporations and governments, gives its architects both financial power in the trillions and monopolistic control over speech and ideas surrounding “climate change.”

ESG, Censorship, and Control

As Christians, we recognize this pattern. Just as some religious leaders throughout history have twisted Scripture to push their own narratives, the ESG movement cloaks itself in virtue while aiming to silence dissent. Christ Himself stands against censorship. If secular authorities can silence the very mention of Jesus because they deem it “offensive,” then freedom of faith—and freedom of speech—are already gone.

The same principle applies in a free-market economy. It’s easy to label ESG as “Marxist,” but at its core, anti-free-market policies are also anti-God. God works in mysterious ways, and when individuals are free to think, create, and challenge ideas, solutions emerge. Censorship, whether in religion or economics, stifles human development.

Mark Carney, meanwhile, continues to travel globally, meeting world leaders to push the ESG agenda, while ironically polluting the air with the very planes used to promote “climate” initiatives. Even environmentalists with alternative solutions are sidelined if they don’t conform to the approved narrative.

Faith, Freedom, and Voluntary Service

Christ never forced His disciples into submission. He called for voluntary faith. Before His crucifixion, even when His disciples urged Him to use power to destroy His enemies, He refused, knowing that violence and coercion would only lead to greater conflict.

This stands in sharp contrast to ESG. By design, it seeks to control behavior. It censors ideas and leverages mechanisms like the voluntary carbon market (VCM) to force compliance through subsidies. Without government mandates, ESG struggles to gain traction in the free market because its principles cannot compete naturally.

Carney’s Economic Blind Spot

Beyond ESG, Carney’s slow response to the pressing needs of small and medium-sized businesses raises concern. Canada’s economy is increasingly fragile, and Carney’s plans to run record deficits will only accelerate the debasement of the Canadian dollar.

The ongoing Canada Post strike has further exposed these vulnerabilities. Even if a resolution is reached, Canada Post will need major restructuring. Yet Carney’s government continues to drag its feet on the basics—refusing to send a clear message that workers cannot hijack federal property, as the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) is currently doing.

Small Business Impact

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) has issued a direct call for the federal government to immediately end the strike. According to CFIB data:

  • 13% of small businesses stopped using Canada Post after the last strike, which cost over $1 billion.
  • Nearly two-thirds of small businesses say they will walk away permanently if another strike continues.

This is more than a labor dispute—it’s a threat to the long-term trust between Canadian businesses and one of the country’s core federal services.

Final Reflection

Mark Carney’s polished image cannot hide the growing cracks in his leadership. ESG overreach, censorship of dissenting ideas, record deficits, and mishandled labor disputes all point to deeper structural problems under his watch.

For Christians, the lesson is clear. True freedom—economic and spiritual—comes not from government mandates or corporate agendas but from God. Christ gives us free will, creativity, and abundance. When we silence ideas, we silence solutions.

Consider making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today. In Him is true freedom, and in Him lies the wisdom to navigate an increasingly uncertain world.
