CRM Wars: Salesforce vs. GoHighLevel — Why Salesforce’s Stock Struggles While GoHighLevel Keeps Growing (Updated October 16 2025)

Posted on October 16, 2025October 16, 2025 by RichInWriters

At the time of this publication, the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, on paper, appears to be the stronger choice. However, when a technology company relies on a closed ecosystem and fails to dominate any particular niche, it opens the door wide for competition. I’m not entirely convinced that Salesforce will be able to maintain its long-standing dominance in the CRM space.

Many of my clients, for example, dislike Amazon and Walmart for the same reason — they’ve become bloated giants that make customers feel trapped. Modern business owners don’t want to feel boxed in, and that’s precisely the problem with Salesforce. Once it’s deeply integrated into your operations, you’re not just paying Salesforce fees; you’re also bound by the complexities of its system, which can quickly become a burden for small and mid-sized businesses.

On the other hand, there’s GoHighLevel — a platform designed to grow with you rather than box you in. What separates GoHighLevel is its structure: it allows businesses to expand organically without forcing them to use unnecessary tools or features. With Salesforce, it often feels like you’re being molded to fit their system instead of the other way around.

Because Salesforce primarily caters to enterprise-level clients, small and medium-sized businesses frequently feel ignored or underappreciated. That sentiment is reflected in Salesforce’s stock price, which for now, appears to have reached its ceiling. Meanwhile, GoHighLevel still has room to climb.

Once you learn the basics of GoHighLevel, you’re encouraged to participate in its development process. This collaborative ecosystem benefits small businesses because more like-minded creators are building tools and apps tailored to specific needs. Thanks to GoHighLevel’s open structure, you can even create your own apps without the complicated developer processes that come with Salesforce.

That said, both GoHighLevel and Salesforce have learning curves. The difference is that Salesforce tends to attract employees who want to become more employable within large corporations, while business owners and entrepreneurs are naturally drawn to GoHighLevel.

⚖️ In Summary

Feature Salesforce GoHighLevel
Primary Focus Enterprise CRM & sales pipeline management All-in-one marketing & client automation
Target Market Large corporations & institutions Small businesses, agencies, consultants
Ease of Use Complex (requires setup and training) Simple, built for non-tech marketers
Pricing $$$ (Enterprise-level) $ (Affordable monthly plans)

Both Salesforce and GoHighLevel are CRMs that help businesses:

  • Manage leads and customers
  • Track sales pipelines
  • Automate follow-ups
  • Centralize communication (emails, texts, calls)

But that’s where the similarities end — their target markets and philosophies differ significantly.

Salesforce

What it is:
Salesforce is the world’s largest enterprise-level CRM — a powerful, modular platform trusted by Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and multinational corporations.

Key traits:

  • Extremely customizable (can be tailored to any industry)
  • Integrates with thousands of apps
  • Includes Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and more
  • Known for complex setup and high cost
  • Usually requires trained administrators or consultants

Target users:
Medium to large organizations with sizable budgets that need enterprise workflows, advanced sales tracking, and compliance tools.

Example uses:

  • A large insurance firm managing national sales teams
  • A university tracking donor relations
  • A multinational brand managing customer data worldwide

GoHighLevel (GHL)

What it is:
GoHighLevel is a marketing-focused CRM and automation platform built primarily for digital agencies, small businesses, and consultants.

Key traits:

  • Combines CRM, email marketing, SMS, funnels, booking calendars, and websites — all in one
  • White-labeled (you can brand it as your own SaaS)
  • Simple drag-and-drop automation builder
  • Built-in affiliate and funnel management tools
  • Lower cost compared to Salesforce, with no developer required

Target users:
Small businesses, coaches, agencies, and entrepreneurs who want everything in one place — CRM, marketing, and client portals — without paying enterprise-level fees.

Example uses:

  • A local gym automating text reminders and memberships
  • A digital marketing agency managing leads and funnels
  • A life insurance agent tracking prospects and automating follow-ups

As a Christian, I believe the comparison speaks for itself. Many of my readers are business owners, and for you, I’d confidently recommend GoHighLevel. If you’re an employee, however, learning Salesforce might make you more employable in large organizations.

While GoHighLevel hasn’t fully matured yet, it’s evolving faster than most people realize. The CRM industry can’t be monopolized forever, and Salesforce’s current structure makes it vulnerable to disruption. The future belongs to platforms that empower smaller creators and businesses to innovate freely.

Consider making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today.
