If you’re one of those people who want a GOVERNMENT Gold Standard, I don’t think you should ignore the amount of COLLECTIVIST-derived entities that DEMAND their governments enact some sort of price control, to PROTECT them and their industry from FOREIGN competition.
There is nothing illegal about protesting the GOVERNMENT to stabilize PRICES; you’ll notice that some people are pro-price controls one day and anti-price controls another day.
If you want to know my personal opinion of what’s fueling all of this recent madness, it’s the ENVIRONMENTAL policies being enacted by the current President of the United States, which is financing the Russian war with Ukraine.
Recently “OPEC+ Russia” announced that because the economy is clearly deflating, they’re going to CUT the supply of the energy they produce. This SUPPLY MANAGEMENT only exists if certain countries have a MONOPOLY on energy, and the only reason OPEC + Russia has a monopoly on energy is that countries like Canada, the United States, and Western nations, in general, have OPENLY declared war on DOMESTIC fossil fuel production.
The war on Western-derived fossil fuel production is being fueled DEMOCRATICALLY, and it’s so perverse that there are now people, rich and poor, who genuinely believe that the world SHOULD go through a lot of pain for the GREATER GOOD of mother earth.
Laugh all you want, but these radial environmentalists and this radical environmentalist movement have touched down and are now OFFICIALLY a force to be reckoned with. Millions of people imagine that the economy runs on autopilot and believe that rich greedy people are raising prices because they’re EVIL and hate mother earth will INDEED vote and potentially carry out acts of terrorism if people try to reverse all the damage this Al Gore-inspired agenda created.
The problem with INFLATION is PRICE controls; most people have difficulty comprehending the correlation between PRICE CONTROLS and GOVERNMENT created price inflation. Price controls and inflation are both a creation of the GOVERNMENT.
IN A MARKET OR A CAPITALIST economy, inflation is TEMPORARY, and price controls are nonexistent. When the market sets prices, prices (wages and tariffs are prices) can inflate or deflate based on market demand.
Furthermore, without government intervention, THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS will also inflate and deflate based on market conditions. However, in this economy, inspired by the Progressive war on DOMESTIC fossil fuels, the cost for LOCAL farmers are high, and it’s almost a certainty that in Ukraine, with all the financing/free money they’re getting from around the world, along with a lack of regulatory oversight equates to Ukrainian farmers having meager costs of doing business.
Obviously, no farmer in a developed nation can compete with this madness, and therefore they have the right to protest, but again I point out that OPEC wouldn’t have this monopoly on ENERGY prices if Left Wingers and Progressive politicians like Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau didn’t declare war on DOMESTIC fossil fuel production.
