Auto tariffs could cost Canada 160,000 jobs, TD estimates – June 19, 2018

I’ve been saying for years now that the world is changing and at this very moment humanity has a chance to say no to war and yes fair trade. The link below will take you to the article written on the CBC which breaks down a few ways Tariffs will cost Canadians jobs.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/auto-manufacturing-td-bank-1.4711080 – Auto tariffs could cost Canada 160,000 jobs, TD estimates

If you’ve been following my posts regarding the Trump administration and Justin Trudeau’s Liberals, you’ll know they’ve been pretty consistent regarding trade. My position is ending NAFTA or renegotiating NAFTA. Canada is losing its manufacturing jobs to Mexico and other nations and this happens primarily because of what Trump talks about, which is barriers to entry, other countries put up tariffs and other regulations to make sure that developed nations can not oversell to them, this is actually why most of the nations of the world are poor.

The reason nations do this is that in the real world it’s not about money it’s about barter. what this means is a country like China as an example can build itself up while a country like Canada turns itself into a service sector economy. Why this is a bad thing is that the moment one country is reliant on another country to sustain itself that country falls like the Roman empire, this is not just about economics it’s also about a skilled labor shortage.

College and University used to be institutions for the exceptional students, those students that weren’t smart or privileged enough to go to University or College would go into Trade schools, this was the norm until women got the right to vote and women started to dominate the public school system. Men and women on average view the world differently which is why one of the first things to happen when women dominated the public education system in Canada and the United States was they started to get rid of the skilled trades, this was also good for trade unions as now basic skills became specialised and heavily regulated skilled trades, this leads to a complete change in the way people view the world.

Because in this type of environment male and female students start to measure the costs in their head. I’ll use the elevator repairman as an example. An elevator repairman has to go to school to become an Engineer first, before he /she can fix elevators, well if you’re a student and you spend 4 years+ in college to be an engineer the last thing you want to do is specialise in working as an elevator repairman, so there’s a shortage of elevator repairmen in Ontario even as Toronto builds more and more skyscrapers.

This also creates a culture where working as a laborer is looked down upon, hard work should be better compensated argue the trade unions, All workers should make at least $14and hour, Unions and Leftist will argue, even if the worker is flipping burgers or sewing dish towels. This increase in the price of starting or maintaining a business causes businesses to leave to countries like China, India, and others that don’t have these types of regulations. When the governments of China and India realize what’s happening in countries like the United States and Canada these countries know it’s only a matter of time before the western world economies collapse, not only do they anticipate a collapse they also position their people to be in a position to be the saviors, which is how they end up controlling and changing the media.

Because think of this for a moment, how many Canadian children do you know, that can make their own shoes, make their own shirts, their own socks, sew a bath towel, make a chair, cut wood, cut metal, lay tiles, fix the roof on their home, grow fruits, vegetables etc. The average Canadian and American can’t and will probably refuse to do these things and will expect and/or vote for the government to solve these problems for them because they’ve been raised to expect the Chinese, the Indians and Latin Americans to do these jobs for them. This is one of the main reaons why Trump is so hated in my opinion, is that he see’s the world from a bartering perspective while most people see the world from a cash or cashflow perspective.

Once you get 2nd generations of people that have no skills other than to use a computer, your society is screwed, you’re entirely reliant on your military, at least America has a military, Canada’s military is well, you can look that up for yourself. What Canada should be learning from Trump is that our economy needs more flexibility, were are to heavily regulated, in my opinion, what Justin Trudeau should be doing is matching Trumps regulations, instead what I’m hearing a lot of us tit-for-tat tariffs, tit-for-tat tariffs hurt consumers and if you look at the numbers Canada has more to lose than America does and in the private sector there’s nothing stopping Canadian companies from simply relocating to the United States.

Canadians should take a serious look at the article on the CBC and judge for themselves what they think is best. When you’re in a war you behave like you’re in a war, you have an honest conversation with your people and remind them of the entitlements they’ve enjoyed throughout the years. A lot of the regulations don’t revolve around human rights they revolve around special interest groups and it’s about time Canadians take a long look at what’s happened to the economics of their country.

Interesting times ahead
