A Beneficiary of Equalization Payments, Quebec’s budget Picks which Public Services Deserve Western Canada’s Money – March 22, 2019,

The problem with equalization payments, not only is money being extracted from Western Canada’s private sector, but the money is also being spent by politicians who picking which public sectors are the most deserving of money they’re legally stealing from productive Provinces. British Colombia is pretty Leftist, I often write in length about how Leftist BC is, but their government manages to turn a profit, sure the long term outlook for BC if their socialist policies remain intact is disastrous, but no person on the Political Right like me can dispute that they’ve managed to pay their bills, I bring up British Colombia because they’re a Leftist province that can pay their bills, why can’t Quebec? Why can’t my province of Ontario? In Ontario, currently, we have a Premier in Ontario who at the very least is trying to shrink the size of government, every cost-cutting measure Premier Doug Ford tries to put on the table is immediately struck down by the big government socialists that have been destroying Ontario for years.

However at the very least in Ontario, there’s recognition that our current economy isn’t sustainable, which is why Ontarians chose Doug Ford over the NDP’s Andrea Horwath. In Quebec however if a person took a step back, at strictly looked at policies, Quebec sounds like a fascist state. I’ve often laughed at Quebec for wanting to attract European migrants as if Europeans have an interest in moving into Quebec without some economic and financial assurances. Quebec has become the most dependent on the rest of Canada in that provinces history.

If Quebec left Canada, it’s best bet would be, to be a U.S territory, similar to Puerto Rico were at the very least it could be a tax haven for U.S capital, because if Quebec was its own nation, especially now, it would have a major currency problem, because as a nation Quebec is way beyond bankrupt. You can barely find any free market in Quebec, every industry is heavily regulated and/or subsidized by the Quebec government. Quebec is also known for its corporatist cartels, the cost to start a business in Quebec is very high and extremely regulated. If you manage to have a successful business in Quebec you become a target, either their government wants to own you in some capacity or if you manage to shake off the government, chances are you’ll be demonized and asked to pay your fair share by an emerging politician. Quebec is simply a bad place to invest in and that’s the reason why they receive equalization payments, which actually incentivize Quebecers not to change.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, Keyesnian economics is going to be Canada’s worse nightmare when the next recession hits. We’ve pushed our economy to the max, and now unlike in the 1990’s we have unprecedented debt levels, so it’s not to say that the bank of Canada can simply drop interest rates and tell Canadians to work harder, no, we’re in an economic climate where Canadians are working hard and having their money extracted from them and given to the public services. Public Services which include crown corporations don’t adhere to market pricing, this has worked for Canada in the past because even John Maynard Keynes couldn’t imagine an economic system with these types of debt levels.

But the problem with Keynesian economics is what happens when the public sector gets too large and the deficits are too high. In market-based systems prices for everything can deflate whether it be priced for goods and services or even prices for wages, as an example, a boss could say to is employees, either I pay you less or I go bankrupt, in a Keynesian economic system where workers unions demand a minimum wage, which means it’s illegal to pay a person less than the legal threshold, when a downturn in the economy hits, businesses have to raise prices on consumers, which means the Canadian dollar has to inflate, which is the equivalent to a BoC interest rate hike. Now, I have to point out that interest rates are near zero, so imagine actual prices, real inflation jumps 5%? what most people don’t understand is that there’s nothing the BoC can do to remedy that situation, accept to print money, which of course leads to the value of the Loonie worsening.

This is what Canadians aren’t understanding, this is what Quebec is going to have to come to grips with soon, if a recession grips western Canada, I hope all of Canada understands that there will be no equalization payments to pay government workers, which doesn’t necessarily mean government workers won’t get paid, it’s just all of Canada might get paid with depreciated Canadian dollars! Buckle up Canada!

Spare a thought for the losers in Quebec’s budget, there are more than a few – CBC

Interesting times ahead
