Bill 148 Is Another Regulation That’s Destroying The Ontario Job Market – October 15, 2018

I keep telling Ontarians and Canadians our economy is going down the toilet, with every new job-killing regulation, what you’re getting is a lot of job vacancies and the reason for these job vacancies is that most employees and employers don’t want to deal with the hassle of having the government breathing down their necks.

The effect of high minimum wages is that you’ll get a lot of people that will refuse to do jobs that require intense labor, because, well a minimum wage job flipping burgers pays almost just as much. Being that minimum wages is a provincial law while the cost of living rises to adjust for minimum wage, the Bank of Canada has to look out for the entire Canadian economy which means bank policy will be slow to adjust to the higher costs of living.

Minimum wage aside these added Ontario regulations like Bill 148 which is in easier to understand terms The Fair Workplaces or the Better Jobs Act of 2017, includes a number of changes to the Employment Standards Act (ESA) the largest change is the change that affects the independent contractors. It prohibits employers from treating a person who is their employee as if the person were not an employee. This again is very subjective because our Federal Government is Feminist Bill 148 is being framed as hurting women. If you read the article below, you can see things from the leftist perspective:

TheStar.com: Repealing Bill 148 will hurt women

Now, I can imagine a lot of people would say well Bill 148 doesn’t seem like that big a deal? You’re wrong unfortunately, Bill 148 is similar to the Me Too Movement in that social interactions amongst adults will be considered subjective, which could result in male employers not hiring homosexual males or female and female employers doing the same.

One of the actions made by Donald Trump which most people ignore is what he did with regulations in the United States. Canada under Justin Trudeau has taken an opposite approach to economic policies and the cracks haven’t shown yet because there hasn’t been an economic crisis and the Bank of Canada has been slow to move interest rates in an upward direction. However, as I said before a lot of public sectors government jobs have been creating and with the expansion of the public sector these big government thinkers, believe that the can socially engineer private sector into adhering to their policies. The unfortunate thing is that if Bill 148 becomes law, what’s going to happen is a contraction in the private sector.

The worst part of Bill 148 is when a person actually sues for what they deem as harassment, once the precedent is set that’s when the Private Sector will really begin to shrink. It’s extremely important to understand that a lot of small business people don’t even know this is happening, most employers learn about Bill 148 and other similar laws after they get sued. Now am I against woman’s rights? Of course not, what I’ve been saying for years is that people have a right to quit their jobs, they have a right not to show up to work, they have a right to start their own businesses, they have a right to express their views on social media, however, to make subjective interactions between people law that can clog up our legal system has economic ramifications.

Now, let’s be honest a lot of these bills or regulations don’t really start to resonate through the economy for a few years, but small and medium companies especially have to be very careful with these laws, because one lawsuit and they could be out of business and remember it’s not always the business owner who is guilty, but one of his employees that might be in charge of other people or other groups of people that will be the cause of concern.

A lot of small businesses in Ontario intentionally don’t grow because of laws like this. Now, I don’t like to write these posts without providing any solutions. My solution is that Canada has become to Leftist, the point of a free society is to be self-employed, an entrepreneur, to work for yourself never in the history of humankind has it been cheaper to be self-employed and what Canada is experiencing right now is massive attempts by the political left to remain relevant politically. A lot of pensions depend on the young remaining ignorant about the free market and capitalism.

A lot of socialist program in the digital age are useless, it’s the reality and if people start to realize that what used to take a factory to build can now be made and developed in a persons home ready to sell, this entire world will shift, how we do politics will shift, how women are treated will shift how we view debt will shift, the world will change and realize that we don’t need political leaders anymore, what we need is the freedom to choice. We can boycott a business who harasses women.

Understand that every government regulations makes the cost of living increase, When the cost of living increases and when the government charges you more in taxes, you wind up being poorer. The poorer you are the more likely it is that you will vote for redistrubution schemes and more regulations on the people you percieve to be as rich. What ends up happening however is that the citizen becomes more reliant on the government to survive, because the people gave up their freedoms for government security.

Reject Bill 148, reject paying more taxes, be a better person surround yourself with better people, don’t work for our financially support businesses who abuse women or exploit people. We as a nation of Canadians don’t need the government to create laws, to prevent exploitation, we have the power to stop this on our own.

Interesting times ahead.
