Business as Usual with Chinese Characteristics: The Chinese Communist Party denies “arbitrarily” kidnapping and Jailing Two Canadians in response to Meng Wanzhou Kidnapping – October 12, 2020,
The price Canada pays for being reliant on the U.S military is that we get suckered into these silly extradition treaties. There’s a price for Globalism and Canada is experiencing it right now. In Switzerland as an example, they tend not to allow their FEDERAL government which the Swiss keep small, to sign off on ludicrous agreements, that force Swiss citizens into unnecessary wars and unnecessary disputes with hostile nations.
Canada on the other hand, a large segment of our population love Globalism, they may not say it openly, but whenever people fight for minimum wages, more government regulations, higher taxes and other big government ideas that can’t be paid or managed locally, the end result is that the Canadian voter, votes to rid export their personal responsibilities to themselves onto other nations.
As an example recently Trudeau opted to buy a used Australian fighter jet for the Canadian military, why? Because America will take care of us if we’re threatened with war, right? Why should we bother spending money defending ourselves when the U.S can do that for us? Well, in case you’re wondering that’s how we get trapped into these silly treaties.
In China, they know there’s no recourse for them kidnapping Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, what’s Canada going to do? Trudeau is basically waiting for Joe Biden to become President, Trudeau is a never-Trumper and because he’s a never Trumper Trudeau hasn’t gone out of his way to ask the Trump administration for help on this issue.
I kept saying Trudeau should have asked Trump for help prior to COVID-19, but now, Trudeau is in a way worse situation because COVID-19 has put China on the defensive and they’re trying to hold onto every single bargaining chip they have at their disposal, had Trudeau taken immediate action regarding Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor things may have been different.
Anyone, it doesn’t make sense to cry over spilled milk and Canadians appear to be enjoying their higher standard of living via the cheap crap made in Canada, so China will continue to do what China does. I sill don’t know how Canada made it into the G7 but it looks good on paper.
What would I have done? Well first off even if I didn’t like Trump I would have been in close contact with him to have Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor released. My bargaining chip would have been Meng Wanzhou. Being that I’m a conservative, I would have had no problem capitulating to some of Trump’s barrier restrictions, the Canadian economy needs some austerity anyway and if Trump was unreasonable I’d threaten to release Meng Wanzhou in exchange for Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor.
I’d first make sure the exchange was possible and deal with the consequences after, even if it resulted in me having to step down. You see I’m not power-hungry like Justin Trudeau, I don’t put Party Politics ahead of the lives of my fellow countrymen. I’d personally campaign on Canadian sovereignty, anyway, that’s just me and I’m simply disgusted about all of this.
I hate Globalism and I’m not fond of the idea of a superpower either. Meng Wanzhou flew here obviously ignorant of the treaty we had with the United States, we had no problems with China, now we do, not because of something we did, but because of something we’re forced to do for the United States.
Even during Covid-19 Canada via Justin Trudeau left its doors wide open to China, now I don’t agree with anything Trudeau does, but I write this to illustrate why an idiot like Justin Trudeau shouldn’t have this much power, to begin with. I began this article writing about Switzerland because their Federal government doesn’t dominate their society.
I’m sure Switzerland has all sorts of politicians just as dumb or dumber than Justin Trudeau, but the most that dumb politician can do in Switzerland is ruin a municipality. Justin Trudeau is ruining an entire nation!
