Bye, bye Manufacturing jobs, Welcome to Canada’s Service Sector economy: ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! Canada looking to disinfect used masks, Dr. Theresa Tam asks Masks not be thrown away – April 6, 2020,
A little context here, living in Ontario, I’ve said over and over and over again, that minimum wages aren’t a good idea in a country that is already heavily regulated and already has a Government department called the Department of Canadian Heritage which already artificially raises the barrier to entry in a multitude of Canadian industries.
I’ve also written over and over again that an artificially lower loonie combined with interest rates that are almost zero is going to cause major problems if Canada has a REAL economic downturn. Now, when I wrote these posts, I never for a moment imagined COVID-19 and the entire Canadian economy basically being shut down for a FLU virus.
When you devalue your money supply and you overly regular the free market in your economy, it has a similar effect to a Communist economy in which the government micromanages everything. You need to BUY a license for this, you need to BUY a permit for that If you can’t afford to pay Canadian workers this minimum wage you’re not allowed to do business here.
If you don’t meet these regulatory standards your type of business isn’t welcome and here’s the kicker, hey smart guy, don’t think that you’re going to move your manufacturing operation to the United States or some other foreign country and try to sell things to Canadians without your vender having to pay their duties and taxes, because your Canadian government has that covered too!
I guess the assumption of people who nod their heads in agreement to these damaging economic laws, imagined that there was no consequence for this type of economic buffoonery. But yes, dear reader there’s a lesson to be learned here and it’s unlikely most Canadians will even know what that lesson is.
It’s not only that Canada can’t make masks it’s not a viable option for any Canadian business to mass-produce masks in Canada. Manufacturing a mask requires CARBON, well, the current Prime minister of Canada, just created a CARBON TAX! Now, if it’s one thing I know about apparel is that most of the people who sew don’t get paid a wage, but you see via Canada’s State-Owned Crown Corporations known as The Bank of Canada(The BoC) and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation(CMHC) The government is incentivized to prop asset prices up, this includes commercial real estate.
Because asset prices are propped up, it makes running a sewing business a lot more expensive than it should be, therefore making a mask with higher energy costs, higher commercial real estate costs, higher material costs, higher about costs and higher taxes, makes being a mask manufacturer in Canada, not worth the risk!
So now, behold the position Canada is in. Please, please consider reading the article below, because I have family who work as medical professionals, I’ve told them don’t go to work! Because in my opinion, the Canadian governments are incompetent! Please, please read the article for yourself it comes from a mainstream media source, I get it, I understand, you think I’m some kind of conspiracy theorist, who knows nothing about what’s going on, so read the information from people or entities that you trust!
OTTAWA — Canadian hospitals should not throw out used face masks and other protective equipment because public health officials are investigating whether it will be possible to disinfect and reuse them, Canada’s public health chief said Sunday.
