I’d like to see Crown Corporations abolished in Canada, public utilities shouldn’t be profit driven, I’m also anti-public sector unions, with that said I’m not against people in the private sector having the right to strike. I don’t like Canada Post workers striking, my view is if they want to strike they should be a private company with no special monopolies or rights that other couriers don’t have, I’m also for the shrinking of Canada Post, with the exception of rural areas, the elderly and disabled, there really is no reason for Canada Post to be as large as it is. I’m not for the abolishment of Canada Post, but I’m for keeping them small.

With that said they have a right to strike, I was actually hoping that they’d be granted the privilege to have a full-blown strike instead of a rotating strike because my hope was that Canadians would see and learn why centralized power is a bad idea. The Canada Post monopoly has created special interest groups, that want to force taxpayers via CUPW to force Canada Post to raise their prices to not only subsidize Canada Post employees but to also subsidize foreign entities who are putting Canadian small and medium-sized businesses out of business.

Personally, I thought the longer this strike lasted the more small businesses would avoid Canada Post, which is what I want. What I want is a less expensive alternatives to Canada Post and this can only happen via competition, the demand for an alternative grows more and more everytime Canada Post strikes, and I what I’d prefer personally is instead of Canada Post employees being forced by CUPW to do what CUPW tells them too, what I’d prefer is Canda Post employees to go to Canada Post management and tell them to fix the structural issues at Canada Post.

I’ve talked to Canada Post employees, and many of them know that there are a lot of lazy Canada Post workers that are benefiting from the hardworking ones. The union is actually helping these lazy workers and there’s no remedy for it because CUPW keeps fighting for them. What annoys me about this move that Justin Trudeau made is that he’s kicking the can down the road, no, I want this problem solved now, they’re striking now, let them strike now and grant them access to have a full-blown strike, the legislation passed should be to address the creations of alternatives to Canada Post, to end their monopoly. Allow private couriers all the rights and privileges Canada post has, that’s the legislation I want to see.

The reason I’m anti-public sector unions is that the employees are often brainwashed with how businesses are run. In the real world a businesses can’t simply give you a pay raise without passing the costs down to the consumer, in the real world a business simply can’t give you a golden pension without passing those costs onto the consumer, in the real world, sometimes a business experiences unexpected losses, a slow year, an internet revolution, a direct deposit revolution.

Sears suffered unexpected losses and they had to close down, in the public sector when a union makes demands, their demands are based on the anticipation that the government will bail them out in the event the crown corporation experiences hardship, now private sector unions demands are based on actual profits and potential future profits of a company, also built into private sector unions deal are usual provisions that entail that if profits aren’t what was expected, the deal is null and void.

Sometimes Unions in the private sector get it wrong and this is why some people avoid working with certain unions because unions are businesses too and in the case of Canada Post they’re not fully private, they’re a crown corporation, that I personally believe have the right to strike, but instead of back to work legislation I’d prefer legislation that ends the Canada Post monopoly. So their workers can strike in whatever manner they wish. Now, it’s clear as day to see that Justin Trudeau is no better than Donald Trump, he’s not for the people he’s for his people, he did the exact same thing Harper and his daddy did. He’s using the force of government to force people back to work.

I want to also mention that I know a lot of Canada Post workers didn’t want to strike and were content with Canada Posts offer, what I will say to you people is that it would be in your best interests to form your own union that doesn’t force you to be a part of the nonsense CUPW is forcing on you. I also know a lot of women in Canada Post are fully aware that some of the other women working at Canada Post are extremely lazy, I’ve spoken to many of you and what I’ll say is you need to speak up, speak out or quit. In the end, CUPW is going to cost you everything.

Collective bargaining is collective bargaining, it’s giving up your individual rights to serve the collective, it’s communism, it’s socialism, it’s fascism it’s collectivism, it stunts your pay, it forces Canada post to hire more workers, it creates employee incentives to be not so hardworking and inefficient, it allows CUPW to make demands on your behalf, in many ways it’s leading to the destruction of small and medium-sized businesses your country. It raises the cost of living, it forces you to work with people that don’t work as hard as you do do, it eliminates the hope of you ever having the moral high ground, in time you lose a part of your individuality. It’s Collective bargaining!

I’d like Canada Post workers to have the right to strike but make no mistake about, the more times you strike, the more likely you’ll lose the security you’re seeking.

Bill C-89 passed the first two readings in the Senate on Saturday November 24, 2018 and is now being considered in detail by the committee. Bill C-89 passed in the early morning hours by a vote of 166 to 43.
