Are you serious: Canada’s foreign minister Francois-Philippe Champagne apparently owes the Bank of China $1.2 million – June 11, 2020,
I was done reading and writing articles for the day when the National Post posted the following article:
Now, the article is an opinion piece and I personally haven’t been able to verify its accuracy but think f this for a moment according to the article the following was discovered
the revelation in the Globe and Mail that Champagne has two mortgages, with an outstanding balance of $1.2 million, with the state-owned Bank of China is stupefying.
Now, I personally have invested in properties outside of Canada, but it would never occur to me to even think about getting a mortgage with the BANK OF FREAKING Communist China, I mean holy crap! But okay fine let’s be fair and give the Champagne Liberal story some context
The mortgages were arranged on two properties in London, England, in 2009 and 2013, before Champagne entered politics and was working in the U.K. As a temporary resident, he said he was unable to secure a mortgage with a British bank.
Now, again, I can’t even find a way to justify this, from my perspective, this would explain why the Liberal Party of Canada has been behaving so weird on the topic of China because again former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien is a lobbyist for the Chinese Communist Party, prior to Justin Trudeau there was Michael Ignatieff whom I on educated myself on because Michael Ignatieff had family ties to Russian imperialism.
Sure Michael Ignatieff’s ties to Russia doesn’t make him guilty of being a communist, but when you do research on a man, you learn some things. Anyway, the Champagne Liberals do what Champagne Liberals do spend beyond their means and think about the consequences after.
Justin Trudeau comes across as Frat-boy and his cabinet from m perspective seem more like they’re most interested in securing their retirement and then getting out of politics. Everything in the Liberal Party seems to be done half-ass, Trudeau is able to do what a personality like Michael Ignatieff could never, which is to show Canadians corruption to their faces and be pardoned for it.
Lastly the portion of the National Post story which should really make you think is this:
Both apartments owned by Francois-Philippe Champagne are in highly prized parts of London – average property values in Shoreditch are $1.2 million; in Bayswater they are $2.5 millon. Selling just one would allow the minister to discharge the mortgages and end any obligation he has to the Chinese.
He should indicate his intention to do so as soon as possible.

I would say game, set match!
Interesting times ahead
