Faith and Politics in Tanzania
Former Tanzanian president John Magufuli was a devout Catholic. His vice president, now president, Samia Suluhu Hassan, is a Muslim. Their political party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), is a socialist organization that, from my perspective, borders on communism.
Christianity is inherently anti-socialist and anti-communist, while Islam and communism form a natural alliance. When Christians adopt socialist ideals, they often become secularized—pretending to be Christian—because socialism requires placing people, regardless of ideology, above the Word of Christ, which is our only gateway to God.
Christianity Is Rooted in Freedom, Not Force
As Christians, we understand that faith cannot be forced. Christianity revolves around voluntary belief. It is a ridiculous concept for a true believer to think that Almighty God—who created heaven and earth—would need to force obedience.
God does not compel anyone, but He establishes universal laws. When we disobey the God revealed through Christ, we harm ourselves, our families, our communities, and our nations.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” — Mark 12:30
This commandment reminds us that our God is not insecure or power-hungry. When we love Him, everything else falls into place. Free markets and property rights flow from this same principle of individual freedom rooted in Christian values.
Socialism and the Rejection of God
In much of Africa, socialist leaders dominate politics. By nature, socialists place God second in their lives. For example, they often treat wealth as inherently evil, using that belief to justify theft or the nationalization of private property.
This mindset becomes dangerous when it evolves into culture—a culture where strong men or women decide who owns what and make laws based on popularity rather than the Word of God.
Centralized Religion and Lost Faith
As a Christian, my main issue with the Catholic Church mirrors what sparked the Protestant Reformation. Similar to Islamists, many Catholics never read their own holy book. They allow power to be centralized in figures like the Pope. Yet true power should rest not in men, but in the Word of God.
Our faith is not about following preachers, pastors, priests, or imams—it is about following Scripture. When you read the Bible for yourself, you begin to relate its stories to your own life instead of filtering your faith through human intermediaries.
The Parallel Between Islam and Socialism
Many Muslims also fail to follow the Quran directly, instead obeying political or religious leaders who dictate what they must do. Historically, Islam has often conquered Catholic regions, and one reason is that many Catholics straddle the line—one foot in Christ and the other in socialism.
Once you place politics above Christ, you step into the devil’s domain. Christians are called to build the Kingdom of God, while Satan uses censorship, fear, and force to maintain power.
Faith is the Christian’s weapon; tyranny relies on coercion.
Tanzania’s Political Decline
In the case of Samia Suluhu Hassan, her so-called “victory” appears fraudulent. Even if the CCM might have won legitimately, this kind of political stunt reveals insecurity and corruption.
The CCM remains Tanzania’s dominant ruling party—the second-longest-governing political organization in Africa’s history. But Satan thrives where faith in God weakens.
Capitalism Misunderstood: A Biblical Perspective
Capitalism, often misunderstood as greed, is simply a measuring stick for free markets. If your ideas or innovations provide more value, capital naturally flows toward you.
But those who reject God may see wealth and convince themselves they are justified in stealing it. When a society normalizes theft and envy, a dictator inevitably emerges—because sin creates a spiritual demand for tyranny.
Christians understand that our battle is not physical but spiritual. We do not worship capital; we use capital to spread the Gospel of Christ. Souls are not won through forced redistribution but through Scripture and repentance.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Dependency cultures breed spiritual poverty. People start seeking salvation from men rather than from God.
The Call to Read and Repent
You do not need me—or any religious leader—to know Christ. You only need His Word.
If you reject Christ, you enter a political world of deception, where leaders like Samia Suluhu Hassan will say anything to maintain control.
Consider reading a fake declaration speech in the land of Fan-zania after I won 97% of the vote:
“Good evening, people of Fan-zania.
I am honored to announce that I have won 97 percent of the vote. The people have spoken — loudly and clearly.
My opponents, who have been detained or have mysteriously disappeared, were enemies of progress — corrupt, evil, and opposed to the will of the people. I, on the other hand, represent purity, justice, and the future of Fan-zania.
Now that you have chosen me as your president, I will do whatever is necessary to preserve this power you have so generously entrusted to me. Questioning my authority is not patriotism — it is treason. Those who challenge our great movement will be detained, for 97 percent of you have decided that I alone should lead.
Thank you for your overwhelming support. Because of your love and confidence, I hereby declare the end of elections in Fan-zania. Democracy has spoken — and it has chosen permanence.
Ignore foreign propaganda. It is all lies designed to divide our people. If you encounter such misinformation, report it immediately to the government so we can protect our nation from these terrorists who threaten our unity.
We will suspend unnecessary freedoms and restrict certain liberties indefinitely, for the good of the collective. No one outside the control of this government will be allowed to mislead our citizens again.
Together, we will build a new Fan-zania — one voice, one vision, one eternal leader.”
Such man-made systems will fade away. But Christ Jesus will never abandon you.
What Should Christians Do?
First, repent.
Second, read your Bible daily.
The Power of the Name of Jesus
Socialists love censorship. In Communist China, for example, Christians are forced to read state-sanctioned Bibles — a reminder of how socialism and communism always seek to control faith and silence truth.
If such oppression ever comes to your land, never stop proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ. Say it aloud every day: “Jesus Christ, I love You. Thank You, God, for sending Your Son to save us from our sins.”
And if they cut out your tongue, speak His name in your mind and in your heart. For no government can silence the Spirit of God.
Reading the Word of God is not a burden — it is a gift. The Holy Bible is our clear, unwavering path to finding Him. God never abandons His children.
Remember, many do not know God, and that is why we must invoke His name through love — with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
If tyranny ever takes hold and you lose access to the written Word, let the name of Jesus live on your lips, in your home, and in your family. Teach your children, stand firm, and be brave in the name of Christ Jesus, your Lord and Savior.
Jesus Christ Yeshua is Love
Miracles happen when faith in God is strong. Socialism deceives people into thinking human leaders can replace divine authority. But men and women cannot save you—only Jesus Christ can.
Do not kneel, bow, or compromise before worldly powers. You are a child of the Almighty God.
Even if satanic forces destroy your body, they cannot destroy your spirit. Most Islamic and atheist nations—no matter how developed—are spiritual wastelands because they reject freedom of speech and the liberty of conscience that Christ grants.
Therefore, seek first the Kingdom of God, and all else will fall into place.
Christians, please continue to pray for Tanzania
