What African Countries Are Leaving France?
Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Chad have all unilaterally terminated their defense agreements with France, while the Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, and Senegal have formally requested the withdrawal of French forces.
Across this blog, we’ve repeatedly argued that African nations would be wise to abandon the French language and influence, not out of hostility, but out of economic necessity. France today faces serious structural and fiscal problems — problems rooted in socialist culture, which is deeply embedded in both the French language and political identity.
Replace the French language with what?
Africans can use their own native languages; however, the language of wealth in modern times is English. Protestant-based languages such as English or German would allow Africans to better understand the principles of liberty and freedom, because the United States remains the only major nation that consistently pushes back against censorship.
Censorship is the root cause of poverty, because if I’m not allowed to use certain words, it also means I’m restricted from putting certain innovative ideas into practice. Although some may argue that people should be banned from thinking about controversial things, what usually happens is that the “censorship crowd” eventually seeks to ban anything and everything they find offensive — which leads to tyranny.
Socialism, by its nature, creates a system of economic favoritism — a modern caste structure that limits innovation, rewards dependence, and punishes productivity. It’s one thing if French is your natural language and culture. But for Africans — who possess rich, diverse, and ancient civilizations of their own — blending traditional tribal systems with socialist French governance is a recipe for economic and moral decline.
The Biblical and Cultural Parallel
When you study Scripture, you’ll notice that many biblical figures — from Moses’ lineage to Solomon’s kingdom — likely carried African DNA. Yet Scripture also records that those who worshiped other gods fell into poverty and destruction.
This isn’t merely history; it’s a recurring spiritual truth. Even today, people who reject the God of the Bible can become wealthy or successful for a time, but without a foundation of faith, morality, and long-term discipline, their descendants often fall into ruin.
The Kingdom of God, as Christ described it, is not a short-term goal. It’s a multi-generational commitment — a structure built on obedience, patience, and purpose. Many African nations, driven by pride and political ego, pursue short-term gains rather than establishing systems of long-term growth and responsibility.
Faith Over Pride
This isn’t a question of intelligence or ability. It’s a matter of cultural values.
When pride replaces humility before God, progress dies.
A person — or a nation — that refuses to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will inevitably lean on its own pride. That pride blinds people to truth. For example, some get distracted by superficial debates like “What did Jesus look like?”
Faith isn’t about skin color; it’s about spiritual surrender.
If you were imprisoned and someone with red hair and freckles set you free, would you reject your freedom because of his appearance? Of course not. The same foolish pride that obsesses over Christ’s complexion blinds entire societies to the liberating power of His message.
The Problem of Hostile Leadership
In some cases, African leaders aren’t showing strength — they’re displaying hostility without strategy.
Rather than using diplomacy for leverage, they lash out in anger, leading to nationalization of private property and government theft of assets. This drives away investment, innovation, and opportunity — and then, predictably, Western or Asian nations are blamed for “economic sabotage.”
But the issue isn’t race or conspiracy. It’s immaturity in governance.
Africa’s independence movements were an important beginning, but true freedom requires spiritual maturity. Nations must learn to act like responsible stewards — not spoiled children blaming others for their poverty.
All Property Belongs to God
From a biblical perspective, all property belongs to God. We are merely renters on His earth.
If African leaders embraced that truth, they would understand that a nation’s duty is to protect property rights and encourage wealth creation, not to seize what others have built.
A nation that honors the Creator should want to attract the best and brightest minds, allowing them to prosper.
Building the Kingdom of God on Earth means building societies that respect ownership, labor, and honesty — and that reject theft in all its forms.
Christianity and Capitalism: A Natural Partnership
Capitalism works hand in hand with Christianity because both honor freedom, truth, and personal responsibility.
- Christianity values free will and rejects censorship — it invites open discussion and repentance.
- Capitalism thrives on free exchange and innovation — both are destroyed when government decides who wins and loses.
Even a person with whom you disagree — politically or racially — can still teach you something valuable. True Christian culture does not rest on pride or prejudice, but on humility and grace.
Africa’s Economic Potential and the Trap of Pride
Africa is a continent rich in resources and human talent, yet poverty remains widespread.
The issue isn’t scarcity — it’s mindset.
There are millions of hardworking Africans, but they’re often governed by lazy, self-serving elites who stifle progress and innovation. Many of these leaders hide their incompetence behind emotional nationalism or racial rhetoric.
We’ve seen how Africans excel when freed from oppressive traditions — thriving in entrepreneurship, technology, and global markets. Likewise, even Jewish culture, once trapped in legalism, transformed after encountering Christian ethics.
Socialism, whether in France or Africa, always leads to division and unrest because it relies on government power to decide who “deserves” wealth. Christianity-inspired capitalism, on the other hand, allows God — not government — to determine prosperity through work, talent, and grace.
The Responsibility That Comes With Freedom
Capitalism demands personal responsibility — something socialism rejects.
Socialists want to be rewarded when things go well and rescued when things go wrong. They create welfare systems that reward dependence rather than growth.
That’s part of why many Francophone African nations grew disillusioned with France. France’s approach of “let sleeping dogs lie” did not empower Africans to understand market economies. It made them perpetual dependents.
The Path Forward: Judeo-Christian Foundations
In English-speaking nations, Christian missionaries often focus on teaching faith, discipline, and moral order, not on political dominance. But many modern Africans reject Christianity because they see it as a “Western religion” — rather than a divine truth for all nations.
The reality is that property rights, liberty, and prosperity are grounded in Judeo-Christian principles.
Without those principles, there can be no stable free market, no moral economy, and no lasting freedom.
Africa is sitting on a gold mine of potential, yet it remains in poverty because its leaders misunderstand ownership and stewardship. When governments seize private property under the guise of “justice,” they destroy trust, investment, and innovation — and the economy dies.
