The City of Toronto spends millions renting this hotel. Now it might spend more to buy it – November 12, 2018,
To start it should be noted that the hotel Toronto is renting and thinking of buying isn’t housing refugees fleeing war-torn countries, no in most instances these are economic migrants that took the United States’s kindness for weakness and to their surprise American’s hired Donald Trump he in reality as far as immigration is concerned is mimicking the Canadian immigration system. With that said Canada minus people like me, of course, decided a few years ago to hire an extreme liberal by the name of Justin Trudeau, how in interviews has said that he didn’t agree with everything his dad Pierre Trudeau did with immigration.
With that said it should be noted and documented that Justin Trudeau was raised rather privileged and probably views the world the way, you’d expect a rich kid that never had to worry about balancing a checkbook would look at the world. One of Justin Trudeau’s weakest area’s is in economics and the mind of most leftist, economies simply fix themselves and policies to take more from one group and give to another group in time will simply balance out as people get settled in. Well, currently Toronto is having a difficult time settling these new economic migrants in.
Housing is expensive in Toronto and this is where everybody wants to be. Most people that hear of the country Canada only know the city of Toronto. So even if they come to Canada via Quebec the first chance they get they’re headed to Toronto and when they get here they expect to be taken care of which they are primarily because Canada has signed social multilateral deals that bind us socially to care for the needs of others before solving our own domestic homelessness problems.
City of Toronto quashes plans to buy hotel housing refugees, asylum seekers – CBC
That aside what kind of prescedence does this set if Toronto does buy this hotel? Does it say that the homeless in Toronto should find a way to be united so they can put pressure on Toronto or other cities to house them also? Because the truth is that it seems to be a winning strategy. One also wonders where is Toronto going to get the money to buy this hotel? Where has Toronto been getting the money to rent this hotel? Sure the hotel is already in debt but most hotels are in debt, everybody knows that the hotel industry is built on debt, so I found it odd when reading the CBC article how they framed it as if Torontians would some how be striking it rich if they bought this hotel.
I really find it odd that nobody says to themselves that maybe this burden should be shared by Ottawa, I understand that these people want to live in Toronto, but if given the ultimatum that they have to leave Toronto if they want free housing I don’t see how they can say no unless ofcourse they have other options? Toronto buying hotels? I guess the city has more money than I thought.
Interesting times ahead
