COVID-19 exposes Canadians need an alternative Universal Health Care: Ethicists debate whether anti-mask protestors should forfeit COVID-19 medical care – December 1, 2020,
Frustration is starting to mount in Canada regarding the government handling of COVID-19, I personally wear a mask, but only whenever I’m in a private establishment and I only do this out of respect for the business owner, I don’t want my fellow Canadian business owners to fined because of me, well at least that’s what I tell myself. But in all honesty, I don’t care much for this mask-wearing I rarely if ever wear one and I don’t like Canadian hospitals, I’ve had too many friends and family members die in Toronto hospitals because of what I believe was negligence.
I’m not a believer in Universal Health Care, I don’t believe Canadians are entitled to the labour of others for free. Most of the people who abuse Canada’s health care system takes more out of the system than they put in and Canada’s health care system is now is being used as a weapon to make people obey the edicts of the government.
As a Canadian you don’t have the right to opt-out of universal health care, you’re forced to pay for it, even if you don’t use it and this Covid-19 situation calls into question how powerful the government really is. The article below is requesting that anti-mask protestors forfeit COVID-19 medical care.
Is that fair? Yes, I’d say it was fair if Canadians had the option to opt-out of paying for Universal Health Care. When you pay your property taxes, fixed in there is the cost to pay for public schools, well my kids go to private schools, so why should I pay for unionized public schools?
I make the same argument about universal health care, if the government wants to pick and choose who is entitled to universal health care, well maybe those of us not using and abusing Canada’s universal health care should stop paying for it and have the option to grow a private Canadian health care market!
Interesting times ahead!
