CUPW Worst Union in Canadian history? – November 5, 2018

CUPW may go down as the worst Union in Canadian history – November 5, 2018

Is it time for the government to end the Canada Post strikes?

CUPW the grinch who wants to steal Christmas, personally I’d prefer not writing about Canada Post, but I have to make sure that I leave this trail of evidence to show Canada Post employees that I actually care, I tried to stick up for you, I tried to show you how lucky you are and why if you don’t like working for Canada Post you should probably just quit!

That aside and why I’m writing this primarily to Canada Post employees is, your pension is a pyramid scheme, even the Ontario teachers have a pension that’s dependent on real investments. Those of you working for Canada Post have a pension that’s reliant on Canada Post being profitable, being that you’re a Crown Corporation, Canada Post has already stretched itself as far as possible to accommodate you. If Canada Post was not a crown corporation it would be bankrupt, nobody in their right mind would invest in it and the supposed revenue you made in 2017, $8.2 billion USD divided amongst 64,000 employees wouldn’t last more than few years.

I’m an investor, I invest in companies that do more with less, I also avoid investing into companies with Unions, private contractors tend to work more efficient, harder and smarter than unionized employees do. Uber obliterated the taxi industry, without government intervention the taxi industry will continue to get smaller and smaller until being a taxi driver becomes a niche, similar to you maybe taxi’s will serve the elderly and those amongst us with special needs.

Taxies won’t disappear, but there are certain things the private sector can do better and people don’t like paying more when they don’t have too. Why you should think about this is that we all know Canada Post isn’t going to disappear, but what we’re starting to question is how big does Canada Post need to be? Do you think Justin Trudeau intervening is a good thing? I’m no leftist but even Justin Trudeau knows that the economy has to look good if he hopes to get re-elected if you become a pest to Justin? imagine what would happen if a Conservative took office? We Conservative types love to cut regulations

This strike CUPW is forcing on you could turn Canada Post into a niche, without e-commerce you’d be a niche right now, you’re messing with your retirement, you’re irritating the e-commerce community. I’m part of the e-commerce community, you know what most Canadian entrepreneurs want to do? We want to be competitive, at the very least competitive in our own country, We can’t even compete with China in Canada. Imagine that?

Take a wild guess whose in the way of Canadian entrepreneurs like myself from being profitable in e-commerce in our own country? Yup! You guessed it Canada Post! You’re in the way and the longer you strike the worst it’s going to get for you in the end.

You could prevent this or at the very least delay this by either quitting Canada Post or ending the strike, but if Trudeau has to step in, well it’s a sign that the monopoly afforded to you isn’t working. Now, supply management recently was on the table, supply management might change or disappear if Trump is able to get USMCA through US Congress. This could have a devastating effect on that industry, but just think, 1 simple law change and your monopoly is over! One simple innovation and your monopoly is gone, most crown corporations tend to stay quiet, you’re paid a premium so you don’t wake the sleeping elephant.

If the premiums you’re being paid isn’t enough for you QUIT! We live in a free country if the overtime is unbearable QUIT! if the offer Canada Post is offering you isn’t enough QUIT! Because what’s actually happening is Canada Post is trying to protect your pension. Sure you might not see it that way, but your pension is a pyramid scheme, you’ll want to read about what’s happening in the U.S State of Illinois right now, read about the Pension plans in that State, then do some research about the pensions that Canada Post employees have.

They’d pay you more if they could, but you see raising the pay of 64,000 people that adds up fast, that cuts into profits and well they could pass those costs onto Canadians again, but again that’s Canada Post assuming that an Uber doesn’t show up or a law doesn’t change. Canada Post employees, just like taxi drivers raised their prices too high.

Canada Post did this because there’s no competition, they did this to prevent themselves from going bankrupt, they did this to protect your pensions. YOUR SERVICES ARE ALREADY TOO EXPENSIVE! Uber didn’t just show up out of nowhere there was a demand for it, the Taxi’s got arrogant with power, they assumed they were untouchable and forgot that all good things come to an end. They charged too much for their services and someone designed an APP that undermined the taxicab industry. Happens all the time, why use a broom and mop, when you can use a Swiffer, why use an analog flipphone when I can use a smartphone?

This isn’t the 1980’s and your main customers aren’t individuals who need you to deliver their checks. No, now your customers are business people, we vote too you know and you’re pissing us off, 1 law change and you’re a niche delivery service in a few years!

Interesting times ahead
