Doug Ford vows no income tax for Ontario minimum wage earners

It’s interesting when you read the titles of posts, recently Doug Ford the conservative running to be the Premier of Ontario introduced his tax plan for minimum wage earners in Ontario. Most major Canadian media outlets gave titles like “Reality check: The math behind Doug Ford’s minimum wage plan” or “Doug Ford vows no income tax for Ont. minimum wage earners” even “Ford promises tax credit for minimum-wage earners” wasn’t too bad but then here comes the Crown Corporation known as the CBC and what do they title their post “How Doug Ford’s pledge of ‘zero income tax’ leaves minimum wage earners worse off” (Doing the math reveals Liberal, NDP plan for $15 hourly rate puts more money in workers’ pockets)
by Mike Crawley. How can he prove this when it hasn’t happened yet(haha), These are numbers that have to be put into action first, it’s a credit and under the Liberal and NDP plans jobs may simply disappear, the Liberal economic plans have led to less private sector jobs and more GOVERNMENT JOBS. So this CBC article is basically trying to tell you before you even consider Doug Ford make sure you understand that the NDP and Liberals have better options for you. Disgusting! Below are the links to the articles:

So what do I think personally? My personal thoughts are simple, scrap minimum wages altogether. Get rid of them and allow Canadians to decide what they’re worth. Create a government website that allows people to voice their concerns regarding wages in the private sector. If a company pays cheap they’ll attract cheap labour. I’d create a recommended minimum wages, but it wouldn’t be enforced by the government, things like this already exist, companies like the hotel and tourism industry have already found ways around the minimum wage laws anyway, commission jobs are a loophole around minimum wage jobs. Rich parents getting foreign live in nannies, is a loophole around minimum wages, restaurants and stores hiring family members is a loophole around minimum wages.

It’s silly to have minimum wages in my opinion, most adults have a price they’ll work for. Being that welfare remains an option, if there exists an artificial number that defines a person as poverty stricken, let welfare for individuals be the defining line of poverty and base wages below or around that number as poverty or tax except.

This has always been my problem with Conservatives, they’re not telling Canadians the truth, they’re simply trying to change the financial structure of the Liberal platform and this irritates me to the core. I read Doug Ford’s plan and quite frankly if Doug Ford wins and let’s say the Conservatives win the Federal election based on the debt numbers and the continuation of Liberal Policies under Conservatives leadership it appears that the economic crash is going to happen during Conservative leadership, opening the door for another disastrous Liberal majority.

If I were Doug Ford I’d scrap the minimum wage and create a recommended wage, even based on his current proposals his concept would create a growth centered economy where the private sector had to manage itself. Fords Plan is leaving the door open for the Liberals to say “Not only will we guarantee $15 an hour in 2019 we’ll offer you $16 an hour in 2020”. No Conservative has the balls to do this and they know in order for the Ontario economy to be competitive one day they’re going to have to get rid of this silly regulation.

Minimum wages are a silly regulation. If let’s say McDonalds lowered their minimum wages to $3, or made their wages so low that nobody would work there, or the people working there didn’t care and did a horrible job, they’d go bankrupt. Canada has already implemented necessary regulations, workers rights also, there exists a mechanism called welfare. It’s these unnecessary measures like Minimum wage that are creating the disasters. All conservatives know this, but they’re still trying to appeal to a populous and that’s fine but when Conservatives start behaving like Liberals don’t be surprised when Canadians vote in Liberals. The point of being a Conservative is to give Canadians an opposing view of the status quo, you don’t want to play this race to the bottom concept of who can give Canadians the most free stuff. No, instead Conservatives should be pushing the narrative that taxation is THEFT and from there allow Canadians to decide. What they want.
