Please No E.I, unearned income in the form of CERB makes voters happy: As CERB winds down, labour group asks Trudeau’s Liberals to rethink Employment insurance – August 6, 2020,
Tell them the truth Trudeau, tell them the public sector is at risk of default. When I think about The Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), I think about people who have been on welfare for years prior to COID-19, I think about public sector workers getting an above-market wage, these economic leeches are the real reasons why I’m sympathetic to the people in THE PRIVATE SECTOR who want to see CERB extended.
If the Canadian government wasn’t so big, CERB could be extended, but the main reason Trudeau has set the precedence to fold CERB into Employment Insurance (EI) is that the public sector is at risk. Ultimately that’s the reason why Trudeau is in a rush to get people off of The Canada Emergency Response Benefit while at the same time Teressa Tam tells Canadians to expect that things won’t return to normal even after there’s a COVID-19 vaccine.
I’d like to see the size of government shrink, I’m tired of all of these unproductive people in Canada consuming welfare and being quite honest, as it relates to people who work in the Private Sector, I’m sympathetic to them wanting to extend CERB. Now, even if I qualified for CERB which I don’t I would never take it, I take the economics of my livelihood very seriously and I like many other responsible Canadians prepared for these sorts of emergencies, but with that said, people on CERB have to pay back taxes while people on Welfare I hear get money during tax time? Explain to me how that works?
Government workers haven’t been working like they should have and their incomes have been protected, public sector workers and employees of crown corporations don’t function in a market environment which makes them consumers of welfare, they’ve been getting there own version of CERB since they began working for the government.
So when low wage workers say they don’t want to see their pay downgraded to Employment insurance I hear their pain, I get it! But what I hope low wage workers understand is that the Public servants, namely the public servants that you didn’t miss during COVID-19 and the welfare workers are the main causes of your purchasing power being so low.
Do you see how much $600 a week is? Well, your low wages would buy you a whole lot more if you didn’t have to pay all of these income, property, sales, and tariff taxes to all levels of government. If it’s one group I wish could understand my message its low wage-earning group. Because what’s criminal is that low wage earners are subsidizing the lifestyles of welfare consumers and the public servants.
Folding CERB into EI could come at major fiscal cost, burden private sector, businesses say

Winding down CERB is one of the single-biggest challenges facing the Trudeau government, as it seeks to wean Canadians off of financial assistance programs
Interesting times ahead!
